Dowell Pin Alternative

Mazdatrix now offers full stud kit and the machining for $950.00USD. This is the stud kit offered by Xtremerotaries & Guru Motorsports from Australia a lot better than machining extra dowell pins. Everyone on the West Coast southern CA to be exact wants $1000.00USD to add extra dowell pins to a motor. Believe me I've called around and asked a lot of shops. I don't work or am associated with Mazdatrix but I am sending my motor to them to get the stud kit done to it.

i know 2 people that purchased the stud kit and still cracked thier motors!!!
the stud kit helps alittle but the ultimate way to keep your motor from flexing, and or cracking is to add x-tra pins

Did they use the standard stud kit that requires no modification or the oversized stud kit that requires you to get it tap, drilled, and reamed? Because the oversized set makes each bolt act like a dowell pin. And I know it works because I have a friend in Florida that uses them at 42# of boost no problems so far.

does somebody have pics of the dowelling process? I'm not quite too sure what it entails exactly.

doweling in SoCal - $1000.00
stud kit at RB - $950.00

$50 isn't much of a difference. The doweling kit means your adding to the existing engine bolts. The stud kit means take existing bolts, massage the block a bit and use bigger, stronger bolts. Is that what it mean? trying to clarify for me and other people.

HEY i must be way to low on my pricing ronsperformance.us 386-253=0383. I didnt know you cant post pricing, but I specific ordered custom drills and end reamers for the dowels,so far so good. I use a large vertical mill, engines run fine so far, but low boost , 20-25psi. I believe mazdas where made to be flexible and we are trying to make them solid, remember exploding cannon balls were solid steel hollowed in the middle filled with gun powder a small fuse lit it off! BANG it exploded pieceswent in all directions. anyway we have a job ahead. RON

ok, here's an application for everyone to argue over... I'm building an turbo 13b which should only see 400hp in it's life time. It's built out of spare parts so cost is an issue. What's the best solution?
