COSMO(13B-RE) side plates with FD3S(13B-REW) rotor housings
I have a set of used lapped and nitrided cosmo plates somewhere in storage and a set of brand new rotor housings sitting in my garage. Thinking I might use these to build up a mild single turbo(EFR8374) engine with stock ports for a Turbo II roller I'm about to buy... anyone build using the stock intake ports of the RE/Cosmo plates and stock exhaust ports on the FD/REW rotor housings?

Also, can a manual transmission be used with the cosmo plates? I might have a rear plate I can save somewhere in the garage. I think its from an FD.

the Cosmo engine bolts up to a manual, although there is a bolt that doesn't line up, doesn't seem to be a problem.
years and years ago my friend built a T2 with a 13B cosmo, and that car ended up being really fun. really basic setup, it had an S5 turbo with a V trim compressor, NPR intercooler, RB 3" DP and presilencer with a Borla muffler. ecu was stock with an F-Con and a fuel pump. we tuned it to the limit of the fuel system, about 10psi, and it really felt like a big NA car, sounded great too https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...b661acb2a5.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...77aea2d898.jpg only trick part, really was the FC PS pump on the FD bracket, the pulley was like a day of work with a file (which i didn't need to do!) the boost control, which was the RB gauge pod things didn't work on the dyno, but it did like 225rwhp at like 4psi or something |
