Cleaning the gunk out of bandrel bent pipes

Hey guys, reckoning day is nearly upon us with my 20B... hopefully be running this weekend (but I've said that before :))

Anyhow, one question... all of the mandrel bends that I ordered from Burns Stainless and Summit came with some sort of gunk (I assume its a form of lubricant used when they make the mandrel bends) inside the pipes. It doesn't come out very easily. Any tips on getting that junk out my intercooler pipes? I don't want the fresh 3rotor to injest lube goop :)

How about an Oxy Acetylene Torch! :D

On a more sane level... You could try filling a 'pan' or something with Acetone (or some such solvent) and wash them all with bottle brushes!

nice car btw!

You think carb cleaner or starting fluid would work? I don't k know how I forgot about the junk in these pipes, but the steel ones (that happen to have the most junk in em) have been blasted, primered and painted... Soaking them would take me back to square one, which isn't too bad I suppose.

I was thinking about taking a rag on the end of a stick soaked in carb cleaner, simple green, mineral spirites or something like that and scrubbing them out...

Oh, and thanks for the comment on my car ;)

I use this stuff to clean all the carbon, oil, road shctuff and gunk off my engine. If you just use the first cleaning spray it might work. It is called "CD-2 engine cleaner and prep" I found it at a K-mart.
