carburetor conversion

I have a spare s4 13b and I was wondering how to carburate it. Like what parts I need to get to switch it over. Do I just get a distributor from a fb rx7?

you could just let the ECU handle the ignition side, and simply lob on a carb manifold and all te other mechanical bits ;)

i'd go after market on this one. check out racingbeat.com and mazdatrix.com. they will have intake and carb kits to fit the 6 port block.

Having used the stock ECU to handle ignition before without the use of the AFM, I feel qualified to add some input here.

Don't do it that way.

It just does not work very well at all.
It would seem that the AFM plays a larger than (I) expected role in the ignition system.

I personally got it working 'ok' after a while, but after i've now installed a dissy from a S3 rx its alot smooth, especially since its now running a direct fire system on the leading plugs.

But other than that, if you want to use a 12a carb, or a rx4/5 13b carb you can buy adaptor plates that allow you to use either carb/manifold on a 6port block.

not sure where you are, but www.dysonrotary.com.au sells these adaptors. Obviously in Australia though.
