bridgeed motor problem

ok so after all the work i finally put my engine together which i ported myself and i did a full bridge on it.. i noticed that i did put 680cc primaries and 720 secondaries turned on the car and wouldnt idle i adjusted it till it idled but now itll be on for 10 minutes and bog out and flood and shut off.... im puzzled because i am runnign stock everything on the motor why would it flood out?? wouldnt it be leaning out now that there is more air comin in?? please guy help me out wat do u think i need to do ?? i really appreciate the help

If your a bit more specific it might help, for example.

What motor setup ? 13b NA with 9.4 rotors ( s4NA ) or 9.7 ( S5 NA ) .

or turbo motor , wich series ?

then what ECU are you using, stock, rtek, megasquirt, haltech , power fc , etc.

Those details will help a little.

...

But if using stock NA ecu that is mapped for 440s ( or 460's forget exactly ) . its probably flooding withthe 680s in the primary slot. So you will have to lean them out at the lower RPMS ,

nah its all turbo two.. 4port motor wit an 88t2 ecu stock which are meant for 550 but wen i had the 550s in it still flooded i would think it would lean out now that i have a full bridge wat do u think?? im running on a stock ecu

Good luck runing a full BP on stock ECU.

he tried running it on a rtek2.0 also same thing, i think it has to do with tuning.

Its pretty much impossible to run a full bridge port on a stock ecu

mazdized 02-13-07 01:24 AM

Too much overlap and ECU does not know what to do . Like everyone said stock ECU can not handl e it.

get a standalone.

Here's the problem most people run into when tuning a bridge or something that idles with lower vacuum. You bridge idles with a lower vacuum reading and that is a richer part of your map. Normal engine idles at -15, lean part of your map. Bridge idles idle at -9 or so and that is a richer part of your map. Resulting in a rich condition. Lean it out in the vacuum map area and richen it up in the boost area of the map.

Just my 2yen

If you are using a stock ECU, good luck. You might try running 460 primary injectors and 720 secondary injectors.

yea i tried running it wit a rtek 2.0 and had no luck so i have no idea wat to do in this case but ill probably end up getting a megasquirt or microtech dont know yet and take it to the shop and let them mass with it but thanx guys

fastcarfreak 02-14-07 09:23 PM

definately need to go stand alone... why did you full bridge your motor if you are running with stock injectors and stock ecu? Your gonna get way too much air in the motor for the ecu to handle once you get into the higher rpms...

By the time you buy all that you can get a Mega Squirt with Spark and then you will have anything and everything you would need

bebiracer 02-15-07 06:15 PM

ok whos sellin a megasquirt around here? i think noone cuz ive been waitin for them to come out again but nooooooooooooooo

Rx7_Nut13B 02-15-07 06:23 PM

umm yeah i would have to build my own harness no thanx i was talkin about the zeal engineering ones for that i would just go wit a rtek2.0 and emanage or just the emange ultra which is a full ems

fastcarfreak 02-18-07 02:10 PM

if you spent all the money on bridge porting your motor, why not just do the correct thing and buy a nice stand alone...1000 dollars isnt much when it comes to not blowing a motor and ruining your turbo...
