bnr stage 3 or 99' spec?
well im about to put in new turbos for my 7 and i want to get the bnr stage 3 turbos but chuck over at rotary extreme said that he has never worked with them before and doesnt know how reliable they are, he recomended that i use the 99's cause of their reliability but on rx7store.net they list a whole bunch of stuff that the bnr's have over the 99's. if any of u have had experiance with either of these turbos please share thanx!

Do you have a bad set of turbos currently? BNR requires a useable core (unless Brian has a useable core laying around). |
Nice thing about the BNR's is that they are "new" turbo's. Not rebuilds like before. So you will make 400rwhp pretty easily, unlike the 99's which are way overpriced, IMO...

well the ting is my car liks hella oil i mean alot! and the mazda dealership said i needed new ones & im not sure if they are reuseable. i want to make more power but i still want them to be reliable. y does he need the cores if the BNR's arent rebuilds?

BNRs are NOT new turbos. They DO use new CHRAs, but they are mounted in your original housings (or a core). If you can get good core housings or your housings are still ok (doubtful), the BNRs will work.
I went through this same dilemna myself -- my BNRs should arrive early next week..:D However, if someone is just looking for brand new turbos and doesn't plan on running 15+ psi, then the 99s are a great set of turbos -- trust me, I really agonized over my decision and I hope I don't regret it. |

rule number 1 - never take it to the dealer. they don't know wtf they are talking about. go to the regional forums section and find a rotary specialist near you and get an second opinion. |
well 2mmaro im taking it to chuck at rotary extreme and we're gonna figure it out from there. how much power can the 99's produce at 15 psi with the apropriate mods?

thats good enough for me, i already took my car there today and im getting the 99's w/ the enfi y pipe, koyo radiator, re dp, and 99' front lip. chuck said that the stockers on a street port engine and the other apropriate mods produced 380 whp which is good enough for me until i get bored w/ that ;)
