Apex Seal Travel Calculation Sheet (Your input)

Note, I did this on my way home from Atkins Rotary, Calculations I hope are right, what i need is input on more accurate numbers, like suggestions for different average rate of speed or revolutions per minute... that kind of thing, I would like it to be more accurate.

This is just for fun so don’t rip my head off if you don’t agree with something, just make suggestions!

P.S. I was about 75% sure that a rotor makes two revolutions for one rotation of the eccentric shaft, please correct me if I’m wrong.

Also I found that the apex seal travels at an average of 200 MPH (during operation using ^ variables

Well, to start off, the rotor makes 1/3 of a rotation for one rotation of the eccentirc shaft...

3000 rpm eccentric= 1000 rpm rotor

TpCpLaYa 04-25-07 08:54 PM

correct...1 rotation of rotor for 3 of the eccentric

DriftTrix 04-25-07 09:27 PM

Damn, lol

I should have looked that up first.

Very interesting stuff never really thought about how many times a rotor can spin before an apex seal blows or w.e. And yes its 1 to 3 ratio, lol soon as i started reading and saw the two revolution for one revolution of the eccentric shaft I knew someone would correct this quickly.
