Any place online to purchase high grade bolts for Flywheel and pressure plate?
Hey guys,
No local bolt suppliers here that have good selections of metric bolts. I'm wondering if there is anywhere to get them online? I have found some performance car sites offer kits for cars that include all the bolts required. Is there anything like this for the RX-7? (TII to be more specific...) S5 TII engine, Panspeed 11 lb billet flywheel, ACT extreme clutch. Dan_s_young |

I'm piecing my setup together from scratch so I don't have pressure plate bolts around.
I should have been a little more clear though its the rear counterweight bolts I also need. |

Ok I must be missing something here so just let me explain where I'm coming from. The stock flywheel has the rear counterweight built in, and I am using an aftermarket setup that requires grade 10.9 bolts to hold the flywheel to the counterweight. How would I use the bolts from a factory setup if they are non-existant or am I missing something here.
For the pressure plate thats an excellent idea though, thanks. |
Here's a hint...
You can run the ARP bolts made for the Toyota 4AG flywheel. I don't know the part numbers off-hand, but hit Summit Racing and just keyword search "4AG" should come up with the part number. These should replace the 6 bolts that secure the flywheel to the counterweight. I haven't found good replacements for the PP to flywheel though. :( Those things are "fine thread" and a pain in the ass to source! Might try McMaster-Carr? -Ted |

Ok all the Mazda rotary motors that came for an auto transmission use the said couterweights and bolts you need. So go to the dealer and order a set of bolts to mount the automatic transmission flexplate/flywheel to the rear counter weight. I also hope you know that the counterwieght have to be matched to the balance of the motor. In other words there are more than one counterweight available so using the wrong one will throw the balance off. Anything else? :) |

yeah, pay attention to the year counterweight you use.
the only reason i'd suggest the ARP bolts is because you said you don't already have the stockers. i used ARP on my MR2 Turbo. quality stuff!!! |
We use ARP bolts on all of our Cup engines, you arn't going to find a better bolt.
