20B swap on 88

Just looking for knowledge to shed some light on the subject. I'm just nearing that point where u reach peak potential out of the 13B and I love rotary so much, looking at other options. Any comments apreciated (=

how high is this "peak potential" that you have reached......there are soo many variations to a 13bs peak potential that its almost impossible to reach a peak. if im confusing you im sorry, but 13bs are tough and can be set up to do some amazing things with the rite amount of money......but then again if you have the money why play around with 13bs when theres a whole other world and rotor to cross into..................

What specific question do you have? Since your car is already set up for over 700rwhp, the 20B conversion should be fairly simple.

I was just hopeing for input, honestly don't know much about the 20b's or intend to do anything immiedatly , I'm interested in what I should be concerned with for the FC, I've read write ups about rx8 on the rx8 club but I'm still running stock 4.1 manual trans, s4 configuration, n such. And what I mean by peak performance is adjusted to my time and budget along the lines of street legal... but I'm now more interested in making a pure all out racer, so thats why I'm interested in the 20B and for those of you have any experiance with them I'd love to here from you.

Thanks for any imputs :)

if your not in the 500+ club w/ your 13b get there first. Its cheaper to do that than drop in and finish the 20b. Dreams are dreams sometimes. Price some of the things you will need and come back. Include a tranny in there that can handle 500+ torque as well. Unless you like replacing those monthly.

It does fit into the 2nd gen very easily. It looks like it was designed to be there. Good luck.

Thanks Rotary, haven't ran a dyno yet, n I still have alittle ways to go with it first. But I'm happy to hear it won't require any modding for the block :D. And I love my 13B so much, i'm gonna run my last breath in my 13B before swapping, so It'll be a while.

not being a tool, but who said that? porting and some oil mods will be required for a "good" 13B build, thus you're modding the block. take a look around the board check some of the 400 to 600 hp engines here and see what you're in for.

oh and just out of curiosity, is your '88 a T2 or N/A?

10th ae

EDIT:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not undermining the 13b. I love checking everyones engines and taking ideas from them for my own :) . However, I'm really interested in the 20B and sometime in the future I would like to swap with one.
