Tester needed - RX8 Explorer 8.8 Kit
Ronin is developing an RX8 product line! We've owned a test mule for a bit now and have completed prototyping on an 8.8 rear as our first product. (There are some rotary guys making good power so we wanted to get the rear squared before we tore the rest of the driveline out.) The kit is similar to the FD in that it's based on the burly dual front mount aluminum housing from the 2006-2010 Ford Explorer.
Pic of diff from our FD kit. https://sites.google.com/site/frijol...8ProgressI.JPG Prototypes are complete including halftshafts and we're looking for a tester. Basic criteria: You need to be making a good deal of HP (call >450 whp). Your car has to be currently running and available for install and immediate testing. If you're in SoCal that's a big advantage as we'd prefer to help with the install. Like the FD kit we're ditching the power plant frame and welding in the front mount support to the Mazda subframe (we're tying across an entire span on the stock subframe). Rear mounts will be bolt in. We will have an alternate trans mount available as well to be sure we can support rotary and v8 folks. https://sites.google.com/site/frijol...inRX8_8.8b.JPG https://sites.google.com/site/frijol...inRX8_8.8a.JPG https://sites.google.com/site/frijol...inRX8_8.8c.JPG Final retail pricing is TBD, but it should be on the order of our other 8.8 kits. We're not giving away the tester kit, but we'll cut you a break. Please send info on you and your car to roninspeedworks@gmail.com if interested. Thanks, Joel (for RSW) |
We do have several testers lined up at this point, but we had enough interest that we decided to do two rounds of testing (Alpha, the prototype shown) and Beta (round 2, open to a few more folks).
Not too late to get in, if you're still interested. Shoot us an email to roninspeedworks@gmail.com. |
