WS6 tries his best
It's Saturday night, and the wife and I are in the FD on our way to Morro Bay for dinner. We are coming up on the turnoff to Turri Rd. Turri Rd is a windy shortcut from south SLO to Morro Bay. About 5 miles long. Nice pavement, lots of ups & downs, lots of twisties, and never any traffic. There are a couple of straights where you can get into 3 digits, but not for long before you have to hit the brakes pretty hard. I turn onto Turri Rd.
Since the wife is with me, I'm not planning on going fast. She sometimes gets motion sickness (as a passenger but not when she is driving), and I don't want to get her sick right before we arrive for dinner. I'm cruising along the first straight section of the road, and I see that a white WS6 firebird has followed me, and jumped up on my tail. The wife notices, and suggests that I lose him :D!!! This comes as a shock to me as she usually doesn't like me to race with her in the car. We have just crested the hill, and are starting the downward section into the twisties. I jump on it, and hit the first left turn pretty hard. I look in my mirror to see that the WS6 is sliding sideways around the same corner trying to keep up :). The race is on!!!! It's in and out of a few corners, and a couple of short straights with the distance between us expanding. Pretty soon, I have dropped him, and can't see him except for on the straights. I get to the end of the road having put at least 2 /10's of a mile on him. I stop at the stop sign, and see him (eventually) come up very fast (still racing). I wait for him. I give a friendly wave. He does the same. I turn right thinking that the he's had enough, and the race is over. I am wrong :). He pulls out very fast and gets on my butt. I guess that's my signal to jump on it. We both get on it, and I start pulling away slowly. I get up to about 80 before I have to slow down for traffic. I had about 5-6 car lengths on him at that point. He kept up better than I thought he would, which leads me to believe his car was not stock. Anyway, it was a fun drive. The wife enjoyed it too, and didn't get sick. That's my girl :)!!! |
if you get her ill right before dinner, its usually a cheaper bill. ;0

Not bad, sounds like it was fun.

WS6s can put 320 to the wheels bone freakin stock...they are pretty quick....my buddy dyno'd 400 with a cam, headers, and a few other tweaks...and supercharged, forget it
My car dyno'd at around 300 rwhp on a "stingy" dyno. It still has an oem cat. |
Nice..
And with the amount of torqe those things put out I wouldnt be surprised if he wasnt pushing tohar around the turns it would probly break loose on every one if accelerated hard. |
