TT FD vs GTO (Supercharged)
I've always like this section but since it sees almost no action I thought I would start a thread.
I'll start out with a mod list on my car. 93 FD Auto to manual car Sequential Twins @ 15 psi 3.9 rear end still HKS Twin Power 550/850 injectors @ 100% duty cycle (I know, I know) Custom intake HKS 3" dp, custom exhaust M2 Large IC w/ ducting Power FC self tuned A bunch of other stuff that really doesn't matter in a highway run I think the GTO was a P1 Series Procharger @ 11psi with a intercooler that looked very similar to a Greddy SMIC. It was a basic car other than the supercharger/exhaust. He said he dyno'd @ 600whp. He said it's much faster in cooler weather so I assumed it was tuned in cooler weather also. Keep in mind it was around 95F outside. To prove his power difference he said he raced a modified GT500 day and night and pulled another 4 car lengths at night vs the 1/2 car length during the day. I went out with a group of friends in a bunch of cars. It was a blast, two WS6 T/A's, a GTO and two R6's and a Harley. It was just a group of friends cruising back roads and having fun. We drove around that day for about 4 hours before we called it quits because two of the three bikes had broken down. So we're all cruising around having fun on the back roads and we end getting on the highway. I expected we would eventually even though it was supposed to be a back roads kind of thing (I was the only car w/ any kind of suspension work.) So we get out on the highway and are just cruising just enjoying the breeze. We all start just playing around and the WS6 and the GTO line up. The WS6 get's destroyed so he lines up next to me. I just want to say that the WS6 guy is a cool guy he just likes to drive he doesn't care if hes beat or not. So we run and I pull a few lengths on him. Eventually down the road me and the GTO get lined up next to each other. I think I was in a better powerband because I started off pulling on him. It really didn't take long for him to start reeling me back in but then he missed a gear so we didn't get a full run. So we keep cruising as a big pack and we get on a more open highway and start really cruising a little too fast but still just having fun. Me and the GTO line up again @ 80mph. Kind of a odd place for me but I play anyway. The GTO gets the jump and just keeps pulling. The odd part is that he really didn't pull very hard for having 600 hp. I was still within a decent reach of him up til we let off. I think he pulled maybe 3-5 car lengths (guessing, it may have been +/-) on me from 80 to 130. All in all it was just a fun day. We all got out and just had fun. My car is setup to have fun, it's much more track based than the other cars so I dominated on the back roads but once you get on the highway, you have to expect the high powered GTO to win. I loved the simplicity of his car but I'll stick to my much slower RX-7. :) Here's the cruise video. Enjoy, I hope I entertained you for at least a few minutes! :bigthumb:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUvmDGYLjQg I'll also attach a video of my car @ the 1/4 mile. It was 100F that day and it was before I bought the intercooler or the twin power. I hope I have picked up a few tenths since then. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3eAqeesThA My time slip from the 1/4 mile video, hopefully has improved since then. You can talk trash I know I can't drive! Reaction .63 60FT .211 330FT 5.43 1/8ET 8.20 1/8MPH 89.53 1/4ET 12.58 1/4MPH 112.42 |
I'm guessing that was a 2.11 60 foot not a .211 :)

It's not the street racing, it's the retards on the bikes with the innocent chicks in the back.
|
The chicks made their own choice's to get on the back but they are pretty stupid for not holding on. It is kind of like nick Hogans's crash, it was his friends choice to get in the car so they can not blame his injuries on Nick. Even though i hate the Hogan's now for being so f'ed up about it.

LOL that there was a '7 dicking around and two bikes break
|
If the people on the bikes felt endangered I'm sure they would have got off/stopped at anytime. They enjoy doing this and it's their choice to be on the bikes. The passengers on the bikes were close friends/family. It was their choice to ride on the bikes, not in a car. We also had plenty of car seats available! I never thought about them ever being endangered the entire time we were out. Everyone in our group gave right-of-way to the bikes. I understand that they could have been injured should a random event have happened but ultimately it was their choice.

Wearing shorts on a bike is an invitation for road rash - just a question of when
|
It's all fun and games until someone gets killed.

On the other end, I didn't see anything crazy in the video except a GTO getting pulled. |
I understand where you're all coming from. It's already said and done, nothing I can do about it. I was hoping to keep this more on topic as to a somewhat interesting drive?
|
yeah. sorry i get huffy about this kind of thing. ive had more than my fair share of friends die while being on bikes. shit sucks. i like to blame the cagers but i have to scream when i see people dressed poorly for riding. at least they were wearing helmets but shorts and tank tops are asking for trouble and you dont have to be doing anything braindead on a bike to become braindead from riding. next time everyone goes out, suggest to your friends to wear more appropriate clothing so they can maintain their good looks and have the ability to have fun another day..
its not if you crash, its when; so always be prepared |

Most of them do it out of ignorance, and if thats the case, please help them understand how dangerous regular clothing is when ridding a motorcycle. Use her case as a GOOD example: http://sportbike.natkd.com/road_rash.htm Some say that its not if, its when, and others say that its not the motorcyclist rider, is the stupid drivers around the motorcyclist. Either way, the odds are against the motorcyclist  |

I must say that NC has many skilled riders and I guess you can credit it to a lot of time spent on the road. Contradictory to what most people believe the majority of motorcycle accidents happen because of inexperienced riders. When you have a LITTLE LIFE experience comment back until then leave this conversion to the grown ups! |
haha.
ive been riding for years. no amount of classes in any number of states is going to keep that minivan driving mommy from blowing a stop sign resulting in you t-boning her. your comments really show how squid-esque you really are. Contradictory to what most people believe the majority of motorcycle accidents happen because of inexperienced riders. Raleigh Motorcyclist Dies Following North Carolina Injury Accident The Raleigh man who was injured in a hit-and-run North Carolina traffic accident has died. Michael Stegler was 49. The Raleigh motorcycle accident happened on October 2 when Stegler’s motorcycle was struck by a van that did not stop at the crash site. • 5,290 US motorcyclist deaths • 77% of the motorcycles were hit from the front. • 7% were struck from the back. • 25% of motorcycles involved in deadly accidents collided with nonmoving objects. • 19% collided with passenger cars. • 4% were involved in large truck crashes. • 14% were in crashes with light trucks. • 96,000 motorcyclist injuries. • 2,554 motorcycles involved in these fatalities collided with another kind of motor vehicle. • 159 North Carolina motorcycle rider deaths. • 115 South Carolina motorcycle rider fatalities. my point is; its great that you recognize the need for full riding gear but it is very arrogant to defend those that do not wear full gear when you, as an experienced rider, acknowledge that the odds are already stacked against us. why not take every advantage we have? |
I hate taking this tread so far off topic, so I will make my last "motorcycle/FREE RIGHTS" post.
The reason I support motorcyclist making a choice in their gear is that I support A FREE COUNTRY! It is what I have fought for and will gladly do again if called. Freedom is a beautiful thing. If someone wants to wear a pair of shorts, tank top, and flip-flops, it is there RIGHT and there is NOTHING you can do about it |
thats not true
i can complain about it  |

@ledgebmx Nice FD!

 @ this thread!

Rematch with my new setup and we're side by side.
GTO puts 600whp down @ 8psi w/ spikes to 10psi. I have no idea what I'm putting down but it's still a little rich up top for safety since the weather is all over the place here lately. |

that goat is nowhere near 600WHP, more like 450 maybe. the car weighs in around 3200lbs iirc and if it was 600 it would have smashed on everything around you.
