Saw an FD run even w/a Hayabusa from 80 to 165 w/my own eyes!

I would love to run across a car that was a good run or even smoked my *** when I'm on my bike. My luck I only run into ricers with less RWHP than my bike. Best one to date was a Lamborghini Gallardo and he even started it. We went from 60MPH to real high (wasn't looking at the speedo) but I was able to pull on it no problem. I'm sure if we would have started around mid 100's it would have been even at first with the car pulling away shortly after.

You must be in the 800 HP range give or take, I’m "guesstimating" at 2800 lbs (for a 3rd gen RX7) and 800 HP you are around the same power-to-weight ratio of a Busa (BTW, anybody have an exact HP number for this bike). It’s probably around 130HP and it weighs 476 lbs (checked the website).
130 horsepower, i hope your kidding i thought they were 170ish my naibors gsxr1000 pushes more then 130 horsepower

Yeah there is a huge difference between the GSXR's 155RHWP and the Busa's 157RHWP (and these are just average they can very a little). The Busa makes a ton of power early, much faster than any of the other litre bikes, that's how it get's over it's extra 80lbs. The biggest difference is torque though, the Busa makes about 80ft/lbs at a little over 3000RPMs and peaks close to 100ft/lbs, the litre bikes usually don't even make 80ft/lbs peak. Once you get around 125mph the weight thing isn't really a factor anymore and now it's all about aerodynamics and this is where the Hayabusa has an advantage over all the other bikes (just slightly over the ZX12R though which is like a hair behind the Busa in most tests). A lot of people don't understand how a Busa can be faster than a litre bike when they all have close to the same amount of power, but the peak power isn't the only thing that matters.

Lightbulb

Here is the story, busa413. The bike wasn't in 6th gear.

I was curising around 80 or so and notice two motorcycle in front of me. I was curious to know what they were so I speed up a little to catch up. It turns out it was a Hayabusa and a very loud GSXR-1100. Both bikes sounded mean and I was telling stephen that they'll probably kick my butt if we race. I then pass them and proceed my way until I notice they both took off and try to do a flyby on me, so I down shifted to 3rd and took off with them just to show them I can hang with them. After that, I slowed down and they flew right by me. a couple of mins later, they slowed down and was waiting for me looking back and reving their motor. Since there was a hill in front of us, I didn't want to race until after the hill because I couldn't tell if there's cops waiting for us. I slowed down to about 70-75mph getting side by side with them. As we started to clear the hill, I downshifted to 3rd gear to let them know I'm ready. We took off at the same time and I gained .5 cars on the hayabusa. we raced side by side until I shut off at 165mph. He stayed .5 cars behind me. The GSXR 1100 was at least 6-7 cars behind me. After the race, I followed them to a gas station and they asked me wtf was do I have in there. I laugh and told them it's the same displacment as the hayabusa but I have a turbo in it. I later found out that the hayabusa has an air filter and an exhaust system in it so it was slightly modded. The guy told me that he races against modified vipers w/ n20 and C5s w/ n20 and none of them could even hang with him soon as he shifted to 4th gear but he was very suprised that I was right there the entire time. I told him what my car runs at that current state and that I still have the n2o system (another 80rwhp) which I didn't use when I raced him. He just looked at me and shake his head. Also, on a side note. He started out in 3rd gear and had to downshift to 2nd just to keep up with me starting from a 75mph. That explains why I was .5 cars ahead of him.

BTW, I was on race gas running about 24psi of boost but I didn't have my bottle with me.

So basically that's the story on that race.

I'm not doubting that's what happen, just busting your *****. He obviously has no idea how to use the power in his bike if he was in 2nd gear at 75MPH when 1st is geared to over 80MPH. He should have been in second from the start as you pointed out and him downshifting also slowed him down.

End result though is you beat him. I love seeing videos of cars beating bikes because it knocks down the ego of all the "invincible" bike riders out there. Keep it up.

I had a 2003 Gixer 1000 for over a year and I can tell you that there's noway that the bike is faster from a 70mph punch. I have raced against probably 3 busa in my maroon car, the only one that came close to me (stayed even when I wasn't spraying) was starting at 50mph punch to 150mph. I'm not saying that the bike wasn't fast, I had alot of fun popping wheelies at 100mph but when it comes to straight line racing against a high horsepower car, there's no chance.

Here's a video of a viper TT vs. Busy turbo for your enjoyment.

I need to find the video of the 800hp viper getting his *** spanked by a turbo busa in the mexican desert. Mark my words, if a viper TT ever fought a bike like the Ghostrider 499hp busa, it would crawl into the corner and die.

That was supercharged not turbocharged and it was making ~700 plus rwhp. The paxton GTS you are referring to would get crushed in the mid range by that TT setup - the paxton is a centrifugal blower and its boost rises at a squared rate. AKA = a tiny amount of mid range boost. That TT setup will make full boost from way down low. Even if the two cars made identical peak power the TT would make so much more area under the curve that it would simply crush the paxton setup. There are 1500 rwhp vipers. But yes, a 500hp busa would be faster.

Interesting, we have a guy locally in fort worth that has the exact paint scheme as your picture. Is it really your bike or you're just using somebody else's picture (not to mentioned the same helmet)? I'll take some pictures of this busa just for comparison since I see him just about every other day at starbucks in front of my house. The bike is stroked to 1400cc with Mr turbo's turbo kit. claims that he made 280rwhp at 14psi.
