S4 (S5 TII swap) vs. Integra Type R

Raced another Honda. This time it was in my own car :egrin:

My car:
87 NA with S5 JDM TII engine swap. Tranny, harness, ECU, etc...
Racing Beat 3" downpipe and presilencer to Muffler shop 2" dual piping with Racing Beat RSR Mufflers
4.3 GTUs Diff
Blitz BOV
Cosmo Fuel pump.
Lots of suspension stuff.
Everything else is stock including air box on stock PSI

Other car:
Genuine Integra Type R (2001 or 2002)
Looked stock.

This was the first day I took my car out after doing the swap and making sure everything is fine. I go to walmart and I see the integra pass me by so I pull out and follow it. He turns I follow and get in the lane next to him. Look over and get on it a little bit to blow off. He switches lanes so I punch it but he doesn't really follow because there was some turns.

I slow down after the turns and he gets up right next to me and we both slow to a low second gear speed. I look over and realized it is a customer of mine from my smog shop  I recently smoged his Subby 2.5rs.

We say wuts up, and agree to be in 2nd gear and race on the count of 3.

I just walk away from him no problem all the way up to 4th gear like it was butter. I was surprised because my car only has exhaust so his car should match my power + his car is lighter. Does that racing beat exhaust make that much of a difference?

On a side note I took another friend out for a ride and he said it felt like I was making probably 190 or 200 to the wheels, and that my car was faster than his Rx8. So I am very happy with my swap and I encourage all you NA guys to stop dicking around and just go turbo!

the type r isn't that fast (I think the newer RSX's are faster), honestly...if it was in a hatch and you did 2nd gear roll....you'd still probly beat it hahah,

I beat a type r with just my exhaust and dp

but I wish you had a video of it, so I could figure out if I have a chance against you haha

How are you liking that 4.30 rear?

^ I love the 4.3 rear end. Man it is freakin awesome. I had a custom driveshaft made just so I could use it . Only downside is I hear the axle shafts from the NA's are kinda weak for boosted cars like they will snap if you drop the clutch too much.

Anyways yeah that 4.3 is a must have, it really peps it up. However, if I was running a 400+ hp car I would probably want the 4.1 as I would go through the gears too quickly haha.

Yeah we gotta race sometime. Maybe next time I go to Raku Sushi in Sac. Or if you are going to 7stock on the caravan that would be a perfect time.

I have beat my friends Type R before, he had intake, exhaust and header (typical honda stuff). From second gear in my S4 T2 with a 3 inch exhaust and stock boost I put about a school bus and a minivan between us before I got to 4th.

n/a axles are fine considering your a basically stock TII. Now if you were pushing some serious power then shit would happen.

4.1 is too short for the lower gears when you start making power. You spend as much time shifting as you do accelerating. I am thinking about going with a 3.9 from an automatic FD (if that is feasible) when I finally drop my diff out.
