S/C RX7 vs 300Z TT = I win

Well, this was more of an on accident race, I was pulling out of subway here locally, and punched it to get up to speed and stay in my lane, speed limits 45, and I see a nice 300 Z right to my rear left about 1/2 a car length behind the whole time up to 80 MPH, before we let off due to traffic...

Nice car, but I win...I think it may have been someone I knew locally ;)

nice kill! how much power you think your making?

Tech_Greek 01-02-06 06:29 PM

According to these guys around here, around 200 RWHP, but it could be more or less...haven't gotten it dyno'ed yet..Steven Kan will be tuning it in May! :)

Jager 01-02-06 08:05 PM

Sure it was twin turbo?

Tech_Greek 01-02-06 10:33 PM

It had a twin turbo badge on the back, also was Pearl White....

= Supercharged :)

iceman4357 01-03-06 01:52 AM

...must have been a weak 300.. if you are only putting 200 to the ground he should have walked u

Tech_Greek 01-03-06 01:55 AM

Maybe so, but like I said, thats what these guys around here think I'm putting down, I havent been to the dyno yet...yet...

nice kill, the TT 300's in stock form are slouches but still quick nonetheless.

Jager 01-03-06 07:55 AM

300ZX runs high 13's and low 14's depend on year. On par with an RX-7.

So how are they slouches? Not too bad for a stock car.

Romancer 01-03-06 08:00 AM

Makes perfect sense. However, the Z was definitely stock.

Tech_Greek 01-03-06 11:01 AM

Oh yeah, it was defintley stock, the only thing I heard was a nice quiet BOV, no loud exhaust or loud intake.

So, you've got it up and running again? Good luck with the car, man, you have a lot more persistence and determination than me!

Tech_Greek 01-04-06 12:24 AM

hehe!

Well, an update, a big bad 350z owner (aka my boss) thought he was TOUGH SHIT with his 35k Z as he puts it...

Well, when a Supercharged RX-7 keeps up with him up to 100 MPH before my shitty tires and everything kick in then I think I've done my duty...

I couldnt gain on him, and the only time he could gain on me was when I had to shift, thats it, when we hit 100mph he started walking but I think my driveshaft is getting thrown around joints wise, as I get a lot of vibration were as before I didnt N/A.

So, mark up another TIE for the S/C RX7, he pulled a 13.8 that same night...I'm pretty confident in my car, taking it to the track the 14th! :)

Tech_Greek 01-04-06 01:42 PM

Hey this is your boss Idan. I got one thing to say, you got whooped by 2 and a half cars by the end of the quarter mile. I also got a witness for this too. Next time you wanna race, we will only do it if you have a camera so you will have proof. Til then stop talking smack. See ya at work.
LOL! He honestly thinks he 'whooped my ass' by 2 1/2 car lengths, ol boy needs to get some glasses it was WAy LESS THAN THAT! Even when they are close to getting beat, those cocky z owners put up every excuse in the world...

I've got the 8 LB Pulley on now, bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump on the way friday, it's Z hunting time.

13bpower 01-04-06 03:26 PM

Yeah man, those cocky Z owners are all about excuses. Oh wait, I'm one.... "I lost because I haven't installed my carbon fiber lugnuts yet". But seriously, the 350z isn't that fast of a car. My Turbo 2 was much faster, but the Z is much more refined and bran new (that's my favorite part).

Fix all your little problems; tires, driveshaft, ect and see what she can do at the track. Make sure you get some sticky tires on the back! That was my biggest problem my first time at the track.

Tech_Greek 01-05-06 05:12 PM

Put the 8lb pulley on, and apparently my fuel system can't support it but I didn't realize it until after I raced my boss the second time when my car was hesitating throughout the range, I immediatly let off. He put a ungodly amount of car lengths on my after 40mph, 40mph and before I was ahead about a car length then after that the car just shits out.

So, the 5lb pulley is back on tonight, we'll all be doing this again, and I'll keep up again on video...he's got his little g-tech machine and so he's going by that for a 1/4 mile - he wont take it to the track (because he's afraid of ET's I guess...he did mention his car traps a 105 on the gtech, bwahah my car must trap a 100+ or something then).

So, with that being said, expect a two part video, of me, a few 350z's, possibly a Mazdaspeed Protege and nice S2000 (which can keep up with the 350z as well, it's pretty damn quick).

Theres also a lot of goofy moments in, like my friend in his geo trying to race a 350z and speeding around everyone acting like an idiot and running over speed bumps like they arent even there lol.
