Rx7 bpu vs evo8 bpu

so my friend just picked up an evo8 with minor bolt ons(downpipe, intake, intercooler/sprayer, ecu flash)
so we decided to see what it had against my fc(downpipe/exhaust, haltech, pulley, frount mount intercooler, about 255 to the wheels)

Well we went from a dig and of course he slightly pulled, but i quickly gained on him, we were dead even till 3rd gear then i started pulling on him pretty badly, same results everytime unless my 3rd gear would grind or he would get a bad launch, i was pretty impressed with my little 7, i thought he was gonna put , we raced about 6 times and i won every single time, He let me drive it and man its a pretty fun car, but no match for the 7. Not bad for my 600$ car hahaha. might i add that im still using the N/A diff.

Your car stock turbo? Sounds like fun.

myersprostatus 11-14-09 02:16 PM

yeah, stock turbo and stock motor, no porting(yet)
its an 86gxl with an s5 turbo motor and turbo/trans.

nice, i love killing newer cars in a 20 yr old rx7. before i blew my motor the last kill i had was a modded 04 350z. just pure bliss..

Great Job!

Every time you see your friend make sure you remind him that power going to the front wheels is completely homosexual.

I did this to my friend the entire time he owned his SRT4... he finally snapped and traded it in for a crossfire. Pretty much because of my smack talking.

front wheels? Evo's are AWD.

And a Crossfire? Is your friend :gay: or just metrosexual?

Supra peeps love that term, i actually like it as well but for RX7's i call them BRU Basic Reliability Upgrades.

I could be wrong here, but last time I check AWD gets power to the front wheels also. At least my friends WRX does :-/

AWD gets power to the front wheels... thus they are homosexual.

Actually I always saw his crossfire as an old man's car... but it is a little gay huh? However, his car handles really well on the touge... and that's all that counts. His SRT4?... not so well... a lot of under steer and torque steer, but good power so it wasn't all that bad. Nice seats in the SRT4 as well.

The evo 8 has really short gears. It makes sense you pull him once yall started going. My friend's evo is a beast until he hits 3rd gear lol
