NSX vs GSR swaped hatch

Raced a 95 2 door Civic hatch I believe with a Japanese GSR engine, Type R ECU, intake exahust and whatever else.

I noticed my TSC (traction control) wich explains why my 6k rpm launch bogged :) Even so we were dead even until I got up to 6k rpm's and it was over. Got about 7 cars after hitting 4th. I remember him saying his launch wasnt that great either.

This is a stock NSX with chrome 18 inch wheels and 74k on the odometer.

My brother's old GSR Hatch ran 13.8 in the quarter with heat soak and street tires. Nice kill.

NSX's are beautiful cars. do many people try to race you? especially knowing that it takes a hell lot of dough to mod them? Meaning that many NSX's out there are prolly strock.

yeah most GSR swapped hatches with exhaust/ecu mods will run low 14's to a capable high 13. my friends gutted hatch with GSR with full bolt ons/exhaust and cams runs mid 13's on street tires.

good kill man

Thats why I thought I should race him. I raced 2 actually one stock swaped and the other modded. Beat both. I bet those 13.8 sec ones have swapped Type R heads no? plus these guy's don't have cams.

I do get the accasional ricers. Poeple just want to say they beat an NSX.

Anyways I just got back from Fusion in SD and might go to Revenge this Friday to see about head work on the NSX. Heard bolt on NSXs can make over 300rwp easy.

To clear it up I was the one with the NSX!

These swapped cars didnt have cams. But I think they really open up with the Type R head swap because these ones were not that fast. I raced in the guy's car myself and didnt feel strong.

stock its only like 190hp or so. thats not super fast but peppy. cams make near 230-240ish hp.. or around 200-210whp. put that in a mildy gutted car that weighs around 2100lbs, and it will feel quick.

Hatch Si's were the heaviest, 23xxLBS. I had a hatch w/ a GSR swap, type-r internals. I hung w/ a 340hp Audi S4, and I had 2 people in my car.

And so I've heard.

i have a 92 civic cx model that i swapped a old school GSR that is a B17 DOHC VTEC motor. it ran a 14.2 last year all stock and with an ls tranny. i now have B16 hi comp. pistons a header new rings and a B16 tranny.. i would imagine it would run a high 13 now. im getting B18GSR cams soon for it, it pulls pretty hard too. not as fast as my rx7 though...lol

another gsr eg hatchback owner here, checking in! those numbers above are on the optimistic side by more than a little bit. the b18c1 gsr motor is rated at 170hp at the flywheel. mine is stock, with bolt-ons, CAI, header, exhaust, and i dyno'd at 162hp.

it makes for a fun car, plus its so light! i really like it, it makes for a good daily driver, i get around 28 mpg mixed street/freeway driving, i can haul pretty much anything i want around in the hatch area with the seats folded down (engines, transmissions, etc) and its smog legal!

i wouldn't think my car would even have a chance at an nsx though.

Orr89rocz 05-26-06 02:30 PM

i mean the JDM GSR or B18C5 i think.. its rated at 190.. newer ones are abit more.. 210hp i believe

american version is 170 tho.
