My 90 TII Vs 06 Mustang GT
First of all, I can't believe my rx-7 can take this guy out. I mean, damn, aint the new mustangs supposed to be pretty fast and at least much faster than a 99-05 Mustang GT. I already beat that year, but I didnt think I would beat an 06. By the way I was getting 11 psi in 4th gear instead of the usual 10. Anyways, I was going home from work and say a mustang with a GT emblem fly by me and smile at me and he took off at about 100mph with a passenger(heard its attempted manslaughter), just cruisin through traffic. I catch up due to traffic. I follow him through traffic and we get to a open road with three lanes but Im still behind him. He looks in his side mirror seeing im behind him at 85mph, and guns it first and I follow with WOT. His engine is screaming out loud with his oval mufflers. He gets about 3-4 cars until I start pulling and managed to reach his back rim as I switch lanes by the time I hit 140mph. I actually looked at my gauge and saw 140mph and I immediately stopped and he just keeps going. I stopped because I got a little araid because the most I ever hit was 130 in my 91 NA with very good tires with at least 90% tread, and my 90 TII front tires is pretty worn out and doesnt have that much tread, but my rears do have almost new tires. but the fact that I had worn out front tires and it hit 140mph so damn easily scarred me a lil. I gave the guy a thumbs up and see his hand doing a piece sign. I am a bit surprised that I came up on him. It was sorta a dissapointment, because i thought it would be faster, actually it seemed only slightly faster than the previous generation GT. I'm not sure if it was stick shift, but I saw the rear move down as soon as he had it at WOT. I know it depends on driver, but is it really that hard to throw it down one gear and floor the gas pedal? its not like we did it from a light. well, has anyone else raced one? opinions and comments please but please no flaming.
