my 83 GS > 78 911

Disclaimer: this is bullshit and no street racing actually occurred, not does it ever.

I work in Independence, OH, a typically WASP-infested suburb where damn near everyone is old or middle aged. After closing one night, I got gas on brecksville road and made a left back towards Pleasant Valley (towards the freeway). It's a four-lane road that's typically uninhabited after 9 or 10 pm. While waiting for the light at hillside to change, an older light blue 911 pulls up next to me. I ask him what year it is, and he says it's a 78. To my surprise, he revs on me, and I get set to launch. I get him with the holeshot, and to my surprise, I've got two cars on him by the time I have to turn off towards the freeway. He follows me, and while lined up at the light by the on-ramp, he says "I don't know what the hell that car is, but I like it."

A non-douche Porsche owner? WTF is wrong with people these days?

FWIW, I own a 1983 GS with a RB header-back exhaust and suspension package, and am running BFG G-force (IIRC) tires.

"sportmatic" 2.7?

It's always nice when FB's are faster than something.

Hell if I know what was under the decklid. It did have the ugliest, bulkiest, targa top known to man. I swear, Porsche's engineers must have been doing more coke than engineering in the 70's.
