Modded T2 vs 99 cobra
The other night im following my friends to their home for dinner, and i make a right off our main road in the city and their is a quick passing lane to my right. I guess this cobra was following me, i didnt even know till i heard his exhaust coming up from behind me in the passing lane, by the time i had a chance to respond he had passed me... so i followed him onto a different street that was pretty desolate with a long straight away and he stops, so i pulled up next to him..i was pretty intimidated cause i thought it was an 03 cobra and i was sure i was gonna lose, but i was kinda interested in seeing what i would do against one. when i pulled up next to him i recognized him, i had talked to him a few times when he bought my friends old 5.0 motor for his foxbody. Anyways, i wait for him to start to launch and take off imediatly.. he got a pretty good jump on me, bout a full car between my front and his rear. As soon as i grabbed traction in 2nd i started reeling him in, by third i was next to him, and 4th i was about a half car infront and moved into his lane.. we then stopped and talked for a few minutes. he told his only mods were exhaust and throttle body.
im running around 8 psi on stock turbo my mods are: ENGINE: Series 5 Jspec swap, Rebuilt w/ large street port Haltech E6x Engine management system Dual alternator pullie Manual boost controller Custom large front mount intercooler and piping Odyssey dry cell battery FUEL: FD Fuel pump 550cc primaries 1000cc secondaries IGNITION: FC 1000 Magnecore 8.5mm plug wires INTAKE/EXHAUST: custom intake Apexi N1 full turbo back 3 inch exhaust COOLING: Aerodyne raised hood kit Koyo radiator LIGHTENING: Smog equipment removed p/s removed a/c removed Front bumper support removed Sound deadening material removed All stereo and speaker equipment removed I dynoed at 230 hp at 4-5 psi on whack ass guessometer gauge. so i dunno how accurate that was. i have the boost reading 8 or so now so im guessing im around 250.. he told me he was shifting out at 5800 and his car redlines at 6200 cause hes breaking his motor in... then he says to me, did you hear me bounce off my revlimiter?? i dunno, i was like whatever man, i didnt hear anything. haha he wants to race again when his motor is "broken in." i told him next time im bringing my camera... |

Nice. The 99 cobras are dogs. Ford has some problems with them not putting down the claimed power output.

Is your FC an orange one by the way? I go to the High Desert everynow and I've seen an Orange FC, which totally owns by blue FC (daily driver). I also have a red FD which can be seen in Hesperia/Victorville :) Just interested in knowing what's up :)

Its a black t2 with series 5 tails, im all over the high desert, also my friend has a pearl white fd, you may have seen him....

ford had an engine recall on all 99 cobras. the heads had major problems. even still the sr99 cobras with the reworked heads are still pretty gutless until you get into the 03' supercharged cars. 400hp stock and a few bolt ons and you are in the 11's. saw one in vegas totally stock, even had the window sticker on it, run a 12.7 something. was a few years ago but still impressive

The rev limiter on a Cobra is there for a reason, it's not making any power at the limiter so bouncing off of it would be stupid in the first place. Nice kill! :molepoke: :icon_tup: |
