hahaha just proves again HONDA really is just another bowl of rice.....

SomeGuy_sg 05-12-05 03:57 PM

Not really . Honda does have the S2000. And it is a really nice car .
I have dreams about driving it , hearing the Vtec come in , drifting around a corner with it. And then blowing the motor and putting a 20B BP with ITBs . Oops ..hehe.. my bad , it would be pretty hard to blow a Vtec ...or would it .... mm......

iceman4357 05-12-05 05:04 PM

screw the s2000, the beefed the engine up so much that you cant get hardly any more power unless its forced.

Yup. So are FDs.

This thread must be in the top 5 for the Thread Hall of Fame. I can't believe how many times it's been resurrected.

blueskaterboy 05-12-05 10:35 PM

i love showing old people that their nsx is not almighty. its a nice car but they get really pissed and stop looking over.

jarred 05-12-05 11:01 PM

wow...15 pages in one sitting and i'm exhausted ;)

rotoober 05-12-05 11:16 PM

stock s2000's aren't what everybody's got them cracked up to be. Last year with my 50k mile 3rd gen. salvaged titled downpipe and m2 airbox car, embarrased one from 35 to 120 on 99e inbetween Yuba City and Gridley. Laughed my ass off - $30,000 vs. my $9,800 fixer-upper!

Damn I sure would not want to be in his shoes :D

Maybe he was automatic? Damn Honda built way too many, they are detuned with lower hp, heavier in weight and lower redline.

stock vs stock RX7 and NSX are virtually the same, it is not that expensive at least not for used ones. People like to bash it becasue of the price for a new one. You can get a clean used one for price of loaded 05 Accord.

Depending on the size and weight of the trailer. May have little effect, but still damn, what a ego breaker, a kill is a kill:bigthumb:

Low displacement non turbo car=slow straight line for people who are used to Single turbo Supras and RX-7s. Depending on the year 1/4mile 12.8~13.5sec.

There are single turbo NSXs, and various superchargered NSXs, nothing can't be fixed with some cash :D

He probably either sold the car or went straight to single turbo/supercharger converstion.

Xeros 05-14-05 12:13 PM

I've driven the S2000 and have teken it to red line sure its nice but its no FD. FD = supreme...till the engine blows...

Quite a few NSX owners have other exotics in their garages, but no RX7s - who would want such an unreliable, and low-quality car? Not me, I will stick to something that will last: NSX and MR2 for now, and hopefully picking up a Ferrari sometime down the line to add to the list.

I know digging up 2 year old shit. But I know a few RX7 owners who also own Ferrari's including one with a 360 Modena (he drives the RX7 as the reliable car and to have fun)

As to NSX's, they are beautiful statements of fabrication by a mass producer, I would not lower it to the standard of Ferrari or even my 911, the NSX are better built. But I must say, their Specs are better on paper than what I have seen in real life. I was in lapping season on TMS years back with my then bone stock FD and thought I would have some fun running and trying to keep up with 10 NSX's. Ha, it was 15 laps of frustration of dealing with either 10 slow cars or 10 slow drivers; I never figured which was the slower part of the equation.

What a laugh! I missed this thread years ago but im sure glad it was resurected. I would have loved to have seen that guy's face or better yet what he was thinking when he saw the trailer go by...
this is a classic!!!!

soloracer951 07-01-05 11:58 PM

Just thought I would ressurect this debate. Take a look at this from this years One Lap of America:

The NSX teams have been caught cheating. In an event with a handful of rules, they broke one of the worst. Turns out they have had support vehicles with crews of 10 helping keep them going each step of the way. Funny how with all that money and effort they still can’t compete with a guy who runs a John Deere dealership in Connecticut. One of the NSXs didn’t run today at Nelson because the rear tires are corded. The other was allowed to run by Brocker but because photo evidence of their support was given to Brocker he said they would not get points today.

Looks like they were the ones having "reliability" problems. And what car won the class? A CYM FD. Not sure if he was pulling a trailer though. ;) Check it out at: http://dcrx7.com/DnC_1lap.htm

All HAIL!

Now That is the true definition of the word kill, i wish i was in the car being passed it would have been a real scream, the guy musta pissed himself dude.

Sammytom 07-04-05 11:35 PM

LOL this thead seems to never die. I guess NSX1 gave up. GREAT KILL

viciousNY 07-07-05 03:31 PM

ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!! Thats the best kill I've ever heard of.

soloracer951 07-07-05 05:57 PM

Here's another quote from a respected car magazine:

Handling was absolutely outstanding in the FD, and it is still regarded as being one of the best-handling cars of all time. Acceleration was no less impressive. In fact, the 1993 RX-7 R1 bested the Acura NSX in every performance category, while costing over US$10,000 less. The car was sold only from 1992–1995 in the USA in its 255 hp (190.2 kW) form.

jcricket 07-08-05 05:54 PM

lol, trailer kill.

sevensix 11-30-05 02:28 AM

^

DemonSpeed 11-30-05 06:39 PM

haha, funny but nice kill :icon_tup:

FallenCho 12-09-05 10:39 PM

Definetely a funny ass kill but NSX's are slow cars when you compare their price vs. performance. They actually have begun to performance less and less each year after it was produced but he can still say that his car costs more then 3 brand new RX-7's. :p *thinks he is gonna get flamed*
*gets in the 7 and floors it*
