Killed E430 AMG

Last Sunday in our E39 M5

as always.. I take my family(wife, kid and I) to my parents
neighborhood where they have a great swimming pool.
Anyways. We had our fun and was heading home, along
the way, I had a nicotine attack and had to stop to get a pack
of cigarrettes.

I pull into the gas station, I notice a Silver E class 2door Mercedes with
a passenger sitting inside. So I patiently wait for my Wife to come back
with the goods from the store. As my wife walks out, the owner/driver
of the mercedes comes out and walks to his car. He also kinda gave me
a look over. No big deal, wife jumps in and we go off on our way.

As I pulled away from the gas station, I was looking in the rear view
to see the Mercedes pulling out the gas station, which seems to be
in a hurry. Unfortunately, He gets caught at a light I just passed,
fortunately i get caught at the next light before the straight away
with a long curve. As I sit at this light, I turn OFF the DSC, and
turn on the SPORT (as my wife yells " you better not race" while i reply
don't worry stop nagging, it depends on the Mercedes").

So the Mercedes light change first he pulls up next to me and looks
over with a big smile, nodding his head as if it was ON. So our light
changes. I wasn't quite sure if he was gonna nail it off the light, so
I gentlely pulled in 1st gear, then I noticed teh Mercedes squat as
if he was going WOT. While we were bumper to bumper. So I open up
1st gear, pulled about 3/4th of a car(he got the jump) then I chirped
2nd( stretched him to about 1 or 1 1/2 car lenghths. Then chirped
3rd and I continued to stretch him as we came across a long sweeping turn.

I finally let off and let the Mercedes pass. Why?? had a screaming wife
in my ear, about to crap her pants. hahaha. So as I let the Mercedes
pass. The guys nodding turned into shaking, as if he was displeased. haha
then I saw it was a E430 AMG.

So Chaulk another one up for the E39..

also, can someone give me some stats on the E430 AMG.

thanks..

Sorry to burst your bubble but there is no such thing as an E430 AMG. There is an E430 with the AMG package (just looks), no AMG motor work.

Racing on public streets isn't good for one thing (I'll admit, I've done it myself) but having your wife, and your kid in with you is just....man, sorry.....but it's just flat out fucking stupid.

Leave them home next time because if you wreck, I promise you if something happens it will be to the them, and you will live to suffer the rest of your life. Same token why the drunks always survive the crash and the family of 4 in the station wagon die on impact, it's just how it seems to always happen. The innocent die, and the guilty are left behind to suffer.

I know you don't want that on your shoulders for the rest of your life.

Bunchies 08-12-06 06:22 PM

probably just an AMG package.

If it was something like a CLK55, I imagine the outcome would be different.

razorback 08-12-06 08:59 PM

ugh, he is breeding.

turbogarrett 08-13-06 12:01 AM

Wow an m5 pulled on a clk430 - big suprise. Race a 55 kompressor, you and the family need a reality check!

FDNewbie 08-13-06 07:35 PM

Very nice man... I wanna check out your M5 sometime :D

Oh and I S P A N K E D a CLK 430 in my FD a few months back. Took him in 4th (80 - 140 run) and he was like ok ok you got me...then I was like noo...hold up... one more time, dropped it to third, and pulled away SO FRIGGIN HARD it was like he wasn't even moving  And I had a passenger in the car too!

CLK 55- 362 HP 370 TQ
CLK 430 is not.

E55 is 450+ hp and 516 TQ. and is said to be very underated.

SLOASFK 08-14-06 11:20 AM

yeahhhhhh...so, basically what I have to say is...ummm....this is the RX-7 Club...not the Honda Civic Club or DSM Tech...so basically...you deserve every single flame you get.

KeloidJonesJr. 08-30-06 05:47 PM

Benz our heavy. Got anymore good storytime stories?

SayNoToPistons 09-02-06 12:07 PM

Fail.

You should never ever ever race with your kid in the car. I don't care how old your kid is. I wouldn't even race with a wife in the car. In fact, I think if I had a wife and kids I wouldn't street race in the least for the fact that I had family to take care of. I would save it for drag strips, autox events, solo track days, and whatever other legal forms of racing you can do.

Marcus_F 09-02-06 04:14 PM

You couldn't tell the difference between a four door E class and a two door CLK class. However, the one thing you are sure about is that it was powered by a 430. Hmmm. There’s only one place on either a CLK430 or a E430 that it says “430”. The trunk lid. It sounds like you got a good long chance to stare at the rear of a Mercedes-Benz. Maybe that’s why you thought it was an AMG; because of the gap he put on you. :D

BTW, props on street racing with your wife screaming to stop and your kid in the car. Is that her secret code that whatever you're doing is OK? Was she screaming to stop when you got her pregnant too?

7romanstatesmen 09-03-06 05:35 AM

you should also smoke your cigarettes with your wife and kids in the car, with all the windows up of course. and instead of screaming, your wife will be coughing, and you can post about that cause it will be a funny and impressive story, too!

I should never smoke, drink, eat cheese or breath the air..

I didn't say what I did was right.

I was just sharing the story.. Take it or leave it..
Unlike you and many others.. I don't change or revise my story
to appease people like you.

You act like I was doing run after run after run at some local drag
racing hang out.. it was stop light pull.. on a clear road on a clear day.

BTW: I do keep things into consideration.. The Car just happens to be one of
the safest on the road.

Now go to every other kill thread, and whine about street racing..

Thank you and have a nice day..

To be totally honest with you.. Im more of a bimmerphile than a benzphile.
Even back in the 80's when my parents had a 560SEL.. I liked the car.
bud I consider benz's older people's car.. Nice but not my thing.
Hell my parents currently have some C class 4matic Benz now..
I realy don't keep up with them..
I had a friend who got a E430 V8 when they first came out in the late 90's.
They were the first ones to come with the 2 circle lights in the front..
So to me.. For some reason.. 2 round front head lights mean E class..
my bad..

Now back to my lil race..

Im absolutely positive it was a 430.. the 430 also had AMG rims and
a AMG badge on the right rear of the trunk.. If it was just badged to
fake people out.. well it faked me out...

And your right.. I did look at his rear trunk lid.. After I stretched him, and
let him go.. while the benz guy was shaking his head in disgust after I
spanked him..

By no means, do I think our BMW is some world beater or the fastest car
on the road (fast for 4door with 400hp). If I wanted to unleash the
FD, I would.. But can't fit the wife and kid and luggage in it with out
everyone crying how Loud it is...

thanks for caring..

GtoRx7 09-03-06 07:40 PM

Man, I didnt think people would get so mad about a race like this. Its his kid, and his wife, I think he will do what he does, if you guys like it or not. Heck, when I was a kid my dad was racing 944 porsches with his Rx-3 wagon while taking me to art school on the weekends. Yeah, that has made me the person I am today.... and I thank him everyday for it.

malcode 09-06-06 06:11 AM

Hell, one of my fondest childhood memories was my dad hitting 120-130 on the highway trying to get me to soccer practice one time :D
