Killed Chevy Silverado's Ego

Disclaimer: I did not even have to turn my car on to "kill" this guy.

I was over at my step-dad's house yesterday morning backing the car up into the driveway.. I noticed a guy around my age checking out the car sort of sneakily. When I got out he asked me if it was fast... I walked over and talked to him for a minute or two about the mods, which he seemed to have no clue about, and its only time at the track (12.04 @ 115 6800k shifts) and he replied: "That's pretty slow, I ran an 8.8." I looked at him perplexed and asked what he was driving, maybe he was a car buff like me... he was standing next to a big, jacked up Silverado.. he pointed to it. I chuckled a bit and asked if he meant the quarter mile, and he nodded confidently, telling me about his supercharger, chip, gears, and exhaust (you know, necessary mods to get a 2-ton truck into the 8's, LMAO). I walked back over to my step-dad's condo and told him about it; we laughed at him amongst ourselves. It was pretty funny, you have to admit.

Soon after the guy got into his truck, clearly a bit ticked off that we weren't impressed by his "8 second" truck, and started it with an unnecessary, ear-splitting rev. Sounded like a normal truck with exhaust to me, I didn't hear a supercharger even after he blistered off at an astonishingly slow pace for such noise. Of course, he didn't make it far...

Apparently he thought his Silverado also cornered like a sportscar.. unfortunately, the curb taught him otherwise, and the yield sign smacked him in the face for being such a dipshit. He got around the corner to where he was invisible to my step-dad and I after a bit of maneuvering and took off again.

I noticed on my way home the remnants of a headlight and a good amount of rubber from the peel-out he made to get out of there as quick as he could. Made for a very enjoyable morning.

It happens a lot in texas. Unless your driving the truck a neighbor has, tubd out, big blower sticing out the hood. Dark tinted windows, one color, and nothing else on the outside.

:werd: Trucks also tend to ignore the fact that i'm right next to them and run me off the road about 2 times a week. Good story thanks for sharing.
