Thumbs up Impromptu race: 30 day tag Challenger Hellcat vs RX-7

Sorry no video, as it happened pretty quick. I was in my FD on my street boost setting of 30psi.

So I ran into a Challenger Hellcat this morning on my way to work with 30 day tags still on the back. The Hellcat's passenger was egging me on for a run, so I decided to give them the cheese. I dropped to 3rd gear and pointed to go ahead, they hit the gas immediately and pulled a car or so. I wasn't quite expecting them to hit the gas so fast but I hit it and it wasn't long after that I was able to put a baby gap on them, probably 1-2 cars before I shutdown. You could see the embarrassment on the drivers face, but he must have thought it was a fluke because he wanted to go again. This time I was ready and dropped to 2nd gear. I waved to start and he hit it and I was almost dead even from the start and decided to drive the point home this time. I gave the gentlemen a gaptism of 5-6 cars before shutting down this time. They pulled up beside me and kept screaming they couldn't believe what happened out the window and asking what kind of car was I driving. I told them it was a Mazda and we nodded before they took off again.

Kind of feel bad about the 30 day tags rape but it was still funny to me. You think they were joyriding someones new car?

I don't think so. Not only because it is extremely stupid to do that with some else's property, but is really because of this:

If it wasn't his car he wouldn't be vested personally and thus nothing to be embarrassed about it. Anyway, being in a 700hp car he must it thought it was going to be an easy kill. lol

I don't have any dyno numbers currently but best guesstimate is mid 700s @ 32psi. I'm tuning for 40psi this week now that I've ironed out some issues with boost control and busting my radiator on broken pavement at the beginning of the month.

It made 600rwhp on a streetport/stock intake manifold setup - it was at the very limit of what the ignition would ignite too. It's a quite a bit higher now with the semi p-port, Pro-Jay intake manifold, A2W intercooler and stronger ignition/more aggressive tune. I should hopefully have an updated video with some solid kills soon. I put a good hurting on a Ferrari F12 and have some other content to add to it.
