Got killed ..... by the wife...

After I droped my kid off at daycare, yesterday morning.

I swung around our store hoping that my wife
didn't leave yet, after she counted out the employee's.

So i get off the highway, and i see my wife pulling out in our
E39 M5. So she see's me and pulls out abruptly infront of me.
From there it was ON. I flashed her a couple of times, she waved
unknowingly, i was about spank that asss. and the car. haha

So as usual she speeds going 65-70 in a 55mph zone on the way home
on a one lane road. I was riding her bumper the whole way, getting
readdy for the kill. So we finally get to a light where the 1 lane
turns into 2 lanes.

The light finally turns green and I go WOT, as the car shifts at redline,
my wife pulls about 2 car lengths, and she isn't even trying..
FUCK, i got killed. So she's infront of me again, so i follow her
until it was safe for me to pass her up, beat her home..

finally its open. I go WOT and pass her in the passing lane going about
80mph, I get infront of her and hit the hazards, to signify, she got beat.
She flashs me. Then she had the nerve to come around and pass me
again as im going WOT.. She passes get infront and hit the hazards on me.
THat BITCH.. So she beats me home.. arrgggghh the agony of
defeat.

As we park, she has a smile/grin ear to ear, and she goes,
" i had to go 90/100mph to pass you" i replied.. with ''hmph and?"
being bitter when ever I lose. So I asked the wife.. did you downshift??
she responds " I don't like to downshift, i don't like the way it revs high,
so i just kept it in 6th gear as usual" Errrrr that wench..

But I love her.

and NO i wasn't in the FD.. I was driving our hooptie/bucket.

ahhh aha ha ha. precisely why I got my wife the non-turbo porsche.

Super77 10-13-06 09:17 AM

Understand your frustration - I'm in my touring model and the wife would absolutely abuse me with her R-1. Yes we were a two FD family - its how we met. Unfortunately both cars have been sold.

Got to tell you, I don't think this qualifies as a kill cause you weren't in the FD. :)

Get the FD out and challenge her again...loser buys dinner or something!

lol, I read that story the whole time thinkin' your FD was sick.

p4nc7 10-13-06 01:20 PM

Completely misleading. =( haha, most of my girlfriend's have been able to outrun me.

jkimbro 10-13-06 01:52 PM

You're saying most of your girlfriends are fast? ;)

Not trying to start a big debate or anything, but coming from an 18 year old with an fd i have to say this. Ive realized anytime a young person posts a "kill" or any other type of street racing, he is called imature, or irresponsible and people flame them. What SlingShot posted seems like irresponsible and careless driving, dont you think the response from readers would be completelly different if slingshot was under the age of 20? Just venting cus im sick of seeing people say that 18 year olds shouldnt be driving fd's and that its guaranteed they will total it. Anyways sounds like your wife owned you! Next time race her in your fd.

Now that is a good wife... I hope mine can be like that. Good story too.

Thats because most of us remember how we and ALL of our friends used to abuse and missdrive our crappy cars when we were younger. Only through multiple years and hours of driving can u truly be in tune/synch with the vehicle and know how and when to push it. When i was younger i remember beating the hell out of my dads new 1996 probe GT. Specifically the one time i decided to race a gti and because i was a younger and more inexperienced driver i basically slid my car 360 like 3 times and luckaly didnt kill lmyself or anybody else. What was the mistake i made? When i was coming around a curve i started to shift and just for a split second i looked at the shifter (in-experienced drivers bad habbit) which caused me to go into the curve at a bad angle. I oversteered to try and correct it but it was too late and i was flying all over the place. As i found out years later, my dad new i had been racing the car from time to time so he had decided to upgrade the tires and just about every part of the suspension. I didnt know this at the time but that probably what kept me from rolling over or keep sliding and spinning. My father, a mechanic and a racer, had the wisdom and FORESIGHT to help me in such a way. Now, dont get me wrong, there are a few younger people who have had alot of track/road time and might deserve credit, but they are few and far between. I mean, you dont have to take my word for it, just look at the difference between a 25 year olds insurance prices and that of an 18 year old, geico and such know what they are talking about, its statistics.

In the end, if people flame, its not because they dislike younger people, its just that they would rather see some crappy 84 toyota corolla get messed up instead of a limited and highly valued FD since the probability of an accident in such a fast car is to be expected (even from the older veterans hehe).

^^^+1 i'm 23 with a lot of experience....track and lots of road experience...and i still know that i need a lot more

femnto...your post is dead on some, but few & far between, younger drivers are inexperienced

idk im 17 about to turn 18 in 3 months and im not gonna lie ive had my mustang for about 7k miles now and i drive it like a bat outta hell but i still have never been in a wreck(knock on wood) and thing i would be alot more responsible with an FD when i finally do get it for 2 reasons A its my dream car and B it cost about 3 times wat my stang costs for the same year model

StreetWise 11-15-06 05:41 PM

97 Mirages did not come in DS's its either DE, ES, or LS but none the less its funny how your wife raced you. i got my mom to race me a few times when i was in my mirage, needless to say with 93hp my daily driver dont go that fast and she whooped me everytime. its just funny that i got her to race and she is a slow driver.

Two things come to mind:

1. Didn't you notice the upgrades?

2. Do you deliver tofu? :D

You have to understand that 7k miles isn't a lot. I wracked up 50k+ on my 300ZX and didn't quite and a perfect feel for it. My MR2 has about 25k miles with me behind the wheel and I still learn more every day. In the case of my MR2, I drive it almost every day, and I race it more then my other cars. If compared to the average person I'm am obviously going to be far better with my car, but the more seat time I get, the better I get. If you want to see how good you really are, try a technical racing like autocross and see where you stack up. I kill cars with my N/A MR2 that cost 10-20 times more, and have people that consider them selves great drivers behind the wheel, but have not even grasped the basic concept of "go slower to go faster".

I can't down you for driving fast, I have no room to talk, but I can tell you that you will grow out of it. It's taken me many near deaths, but I am driving considerably more conservative now then I use to.... and I drove FAST (Not 80 in a 55 fast, I'm talking FAST). Also, the more I race, the more smooth and fluid my driving gets, and the less need I have to tear around like my hairs on fire.
