First kill ever in my moms car
 

Hi I am new to the forum. I am only 18 and just got out of high school Friday lol. Anyways a few months ago I was driving my mom’s 2003 Maxima home from work one late night. I pull up to a light 3 lights from my house and shortly after a mustang pulls up. It was the previous generation u know like prior 2004 but not a 5.0. So anyways he revs on me then launches when the light turns green. I push the pedal all the way in on my mom’s maxima. And take off I didn't expect it would be so fast I almost lost control. But I catch up with him and pass him. Then in the high speed range around 80, I start loosing acceleration or the mustang starts using its high horse power to catch up. I had to turn and go home at the 3rd light but for those 3 blocks I had the mustang on the ropes... until it caught up :D Anyways that is my first kill. Very reckless of me to just go from a stop sign. But I had the presence of mind to check for police before I launched. Moral of the story... maxima torque is greater than mustang torque. The rest of the way home I was wide awake and my hands where shaking. :bigthumb:

lets see this is your first kill and it was a 99+ mustang and you won in a maxima? BS

and if it wasnt 99+ and was a SN95 stang(v8 with 215hp) you would have won so it couldnt have been that generation. A SN95 would not catch up and has LESS horesepower than an 03 maxima.

I belive I said I almost lost control. Actually you are right it didn't start to catch up now that I think about it I was braking hard to stop at a left turn light so that might be why it flew past me towards the end.

lol....i beat mustangs all the time in my GTP....most people think they have a fast car just because its a mustang....i think thats funny.

yeah racing is bad. one of those things you instantly regret. My only complain not enough free/cheap places to race. Racing is such an expensive sport. Don't worry I don't cruise around looking for people to race near schools.

Best way to find races is to cruise around looking for them ;) no really i don't. I never get to drive my moms car alone. unless I am working late and she doesn't feel like picking me up from work.

I look at it this way, the kid has to start his ticket career somehow right? I mean what would be worse a cop who obliterates a Buick Grand National in his sons FC turbo or a kid in his moms nissan?
Personally I have never cared for those "stangs anyway as they convey a sense of arrogance be it the driver or graphics and even before I was a not-well-liked cop I used to waste those old 5.0 stangs with my big old chrysler new yorker. Big Chrysler you ask? Yes 1974 New Yorker hard top, with 1969 440 TNT sporting 906 heads, real hemi grind cam on solid feet and 8.75 sure grip rear. That 5080 pound car could and would rip low 14's with ease and if I stayed out of the secondaries could also get close to 24 MPG at 70 MPH.
Now lets say for arguments sake the nissan was making oh around 190 real horsepower in a car that weighs maybe 1500 pounds less than a shit-stain I could see him tearing the guy a new ass especially if it was a V6 powered lump. Those stains feel fast but they are all gears, when it starts feeling strong its time to shift again... Even those 4.6 SOHC cars are not that fast and my P71 cruiser runs out of steam past 80 MPH, not a racer by any means.

Hats off to the kid though because most races are won not by sheer power and speed but by skills alone, maybe it was a hit of beginners luck for him but the fact he can scribble the kill on the side of his moms car says something in itself... "WASH ME" :D

mustangs are slow, especially the V6's, gutless bastards. by no means is my car fast (FC3C N/A) but i can stomp all over v6 mustangs, shit even my friends 2.5L sentra can beatem, so i am not suprised that you moms maxima smoked that stang. honestly if i had to choose id rather have an ss camero over a Gt mustang anyday

I try not to speed I really do. Honestly I don't speed at all probally one of the only times. But honestly I think it is hereditary. My mom cruises down the freeway just below 80 if traffic permits. My little brother well. In his car you cannot see the spedometer from the passanger side but I assume he doesn't do over 85. As for me I am the slow one actually I never really go faster than 75 on the freeway. Then my mom says "Gosh we want to get there today." But I have no intentions of starting a ticket career or a racing career either I guess you could say it was a lapse of judgment. But honestly If you blieve a luxury sedan can't pull a mustang you must think of them very highly. I thought they were fast too untill I passed it. Oh yeah it is a 3.0L not the 3.5L But all i did was beat it off the line. We probally didn't go faster than 80 I don't think I looked down at the speedometer. Mostly watching the mustang go into my rearveiw mirror. Regardless of what you guys say or want to believe the maxima is a torquey beast as far as sedans. With the price tag it had on it it better be more than leather seats and power windows lol.

my friend just got done putting a 3.5 maxima motor in his 95 maxima he put a 5 speed in it and runs 14 flat at the strip those 3.5 motors are pretty nice good kill

I've an 04' Maxima and it is very quik for being kinda luxery sedan.
