First gen first kill in awhile
Well i dont really do the whole racing thing, 1 theres not any tracks that are that close, 2 i dont like to do the street racing thing. Well heres the story.
Got out of work around 10:30 and get on the e-way, as im getting on a guy gets next to me in a chrysler, i think it was a sebring, not real sure. He pulls away, lets off, pulls away and does this 3 or 4 times and finally i just gun it past him. No big deal, dont think he even tried. Well im driving down the eway and he is next to me again, doing the same shit. I wait till im at a long straight away and there happened to be no cars in front or behind me on either side, and the fuzz buster hadnt went off, so i figured what the hell. Started at 80 mph in 3rd gear. Pulled a couple car lengths on him through 3rd and 4th. Hit 5th and stayed a good bit ahead of him until i topped out at 115 mph. Car wouldnt go any faster so i just held it there. After a few seconds he finally caught up and passed me. So if you assume the race had already ended i guess i won, if we say the race hadnt ended then i guess i lost. I was kinda upset i couldnt go past 115 though. I also expected more of a win over a car like that. 115? i did 120 racing a civic tonight. (Owned it BTW) and all i have done is intake and exhast.

depends upon final drive gears as well as tuning...

My non-turbo Daily driver FC can do more than 130mph.
My TII can do 140+mph Your first gen should definitely have more power than my DD - why do you top out at 115? |
something is not right! what kind of intake setup are you running on your streetport?

hmm, 120 is as fast as i've even gotten any of my fb's upto. that's 12a or 13b. that's full exhaust for all of them. what muffler are you running?

I have a pretty restrictive muffler on atm, had alot of problems with cops so i had to let it blow over for awhile. They had a nice habit of pulling me over every time and finally gave me a ticket. Anyways yea, at 120 she shakes a little (and by little i mean quite a bit) so i think i need to get new ball joints or something. As for intake, stock fuel injection aside from the k&n air filter. Not real sure ifg the 5th and 6th ports are opening either. Had some trouble with the backpressure pickup tube, thought i had it fixed but it still doesnt feel the same. Cant find a way to check if they work though, cause they only open under load. This is an 84 -SE btw.
