FD vs Camaro SS w/50 shot

So im minding my business at the Wawa gas station getting gas and this guy rides past me,and revved up,so I thought,no biggie,it happens all the time.Second time,he makes sure I see him in front of me and revs up again, and at that point I had my finger on the hazzard button already which I through on.He looked like a deer caught staring at the car lights,so I told him to wait till I got done getting gas,and he did.I pass him in the parking lot and wave him to follow me to the local industrial park, and he did.We line up,he asks me what my car runs and I tell him I dont know, cause really,I dont.He says he has 50 shot of nitrous and i like,ok,I lose I lose,no biggie,he says the same.He says,on the 3rd horn beep,go...OK DUDE!!!! 1st gear,im a car ahead,2nd,about 2,3rd,hes closing in,I hit 4th gear and the race is over, with him being on my back panel."Not bad"he says,"but my clutch slipped and I dont kno why it happened!".Ok,lets go again! We did, same thing happened,he got beat for a second time.I got out of the ca,shook his hand, and he was a bit disappointed for some ODD reason.Either which way,FD 2-Camaro 0(its the first time I ever raced my car since I bought it,I really dont like beating my car)

Mods on my car?who the hell knows!Well,Jim at JPR might,he worked on it once. All I know is that I bought the PFC,3in exhaust(greddy)I BELIEVE I have the stock cat, boost controller running 11psi,and a kinny ass Rican behind the wheel. -=)

Nice kill. I find it incredibly ignorant that you don't know what modifications have been done to the car you own. How can that be???

I lost a race to an 01 Cobra with a 125 shot. Nitrous does add some crazy power.

SLOASFK 06-02-07 11:34 AM

The implication, to me, was that camaro guy asked fd guy what he runs in the 1/4. FD guy says "I don't fuckin know".

Sprockett 06-02-07 11:52 AM

If you're referring to the post above you, I believe he is speaking about this quote:

Mods on my car?who the hell knows!
But anyway, nice kill. Try to keep in on a track next time...too many people die on the streets.

ALNY93R1 06-02-07 05:13 PM

Nice kill , with a slightly modded FD. I think

Ah, I see. I didn't read that far. I read the race and moved on. I hate when people ramble after the content of their post is done.

So you come on an rx7 site which may i add has more rotary's than other engine swaps and you start bagging on them hmmm where is a mod when you need one.

Nice kill though.

I don't think you understood his post he wasn't bashing the rotary just the mentality of some of their ignorant drivers.

rx73rotorj 06-03-07 12:48 PM

I pretty sure i did it stated that the ROTARY SUCKS, no its not the owner.

you fail at existance. You don't understand sarcasm. Wow, you're really smart. way to win.

Get this straight, I've read a lot of mattys posts. He's a cock, he's a douche, but he's damned right that rotaries are fine and the owners are the fuckwads.

:icon_tup: One thing I have always respected about you is that you at least know you're an ass and will fess up when you're being one.

well that sounds like a jab. i will let it go though. but i guess when ur surrounded by 2000 immature brats it pulls the worst out of me and other more experienced memebrs as well. i just happen to be more vocal about it. i guess others care about what peop[le think about them where as i dont. actually i think this place becomes a stress reliever for me at times. i got some stress.

SLOASFK 06-03-07 07:34 PM

:squint: yes, it's a jab for me to say I respect you...right...

:dunno: there's a lot of perfectly calm very knowledgable people on here. BDC, Goodfella, 94 Rotary Experimental, Mahjik, dgesseman, etc...but meh whatever.

Ok just a little thought here. I have owned 2 fd's. I know what they will do. I have also grown up in a life of gm vehicles and always at the track. I believe deep down inside your car is more than "lightly modded". For you to take out a camaro SS is really a big deal. For you to take out a camaro ss on a bottle squeeze would me your car is VERY well tuned. They are[the camaro ss] very strong cars and have excellant torque. I will root for you to win just because I love fd's but this is a little far fetched. Now on the other hand a good single set up would possibly take a ls1 on spray but not very easy. That is why my fd is a ls1. Again I am not being a jerk, just sounds strange.

SLOASFK 06-03-07 11:22 PM

I can't see it taking all that much to beat a Camaro SS. 3500lb car with 315hp? vs 2800lb car with 255hp...Seems like it really wouldn't take too much at all to hang with one, especially knowing that lightly modded FDs have been known to hit the 300whp mark. Plus the fact that almost all FD mods are also weight reduction, we're looking at a possibility of 300whp on a 2700lb car vs 365bhp on a 3600lb car(gains weight for the bottles and lines and extra crud that nitrous comes with).

I can see this being very doable, especially considering stock FDs with new street tires have been known to run low-mid 13s...What's a Camaro SS run? I'd guess around the same.

additionally my experience has shown that those cars weigh more then 3600 in the real world. espeically when optioned out!certain models opf the ws6 have these massive steering wheels that control the radio. that thing alone is 150 lbs for cry sake (i might be over exagerating). nothing liek the feel of a sloppy ass steerign wheel in a supposed sports car

Guys/gals,although theres no need for me to apologize,im sorry. As far as the car is concerned,it is basically stock(engine)with stock twin setup, bov, profec b,greddy exhaust&elbow, pfc and me.I believe if I read right that some people say the driver is to blame("tis the story with most fd owners these days. then they cry wqhen it blows or runs 14s at the track.")which I say whatever man.Im 31,have been playing with rotaries since I was 14(12a)and just bought the 3rd gen last year.If it blows,it blows, plain and simple. It only means to take out the engine and rebuild it,nothing more. But dont start blaming the driver(me in this case) for anything, cause its been proven that I can make a car go fast, cause Im a good driver. And before any bashing happens(which really wont bug me)Ive been racing a 1st gen at the track since I can remember and have piloted starlets, and other rotary powered vehicles at the track cause they know I can drive. Now the 13b IS something new to me and I would be the first to tell you that I dont know what ill be getting into but thats not a propblem either.Thats why theres guys from P.R. that come around,Jim @ JPR,Francho at Maryland etc.

Either whyich way, thanks for the compliments on the nice kill and Sprockett, very stupid of me to race on the streets, agreed 100%
