Death S4 RX-7

I was on my way home tonight on Route 50 in Upstate New York, heading into Saratoga Springs from exit 15 off of I-87, I was driving my 1996 GMC 1500 305. I found myself stopped at a redlight behind a white S4 RX7 with a big wing on the back, lined up next to a newer Audi S4 (coincidence? i think not). Anyway, I pretty much knew what was going to happen, and when the light turned green the Audi tore ass down the road, with me behind the RX-7 about the pass him before we came to the next light. The Audi must have put a good 8 car lengths on the 7 and myself behind him before he shut down. I would have liked to have run the 7 with the truck, for shits and giggles to see what would happen, cuz when I was behind him at that one light I couldnt put the pedal to the floor for fear of rear ending him. It looked like he was an auto.

I'm not a troll or anything, and you're probably wondering why someone with a GMC is posting here, I like 2nd gen RX-7s and would love to have an S5 N/A for myself( ) slick cars.

odds are the old age of the car is catching up to it. the bg wing suggests he has no idea what hes doing and the car is dire need of maintence to make it run right. then again, the 1.8T A4's can haul ass.

No, it wasnt an A4, it was an S4, looked it up it, 2000-2002 bodystyle, silverish in color, and it shot off like a rocket.

Meh, being the owner of an FC, I'm gonna have to say NO, Jason. Yes, she'll still make you drool over her from time to time, but when you see an FD drive past and almost give yourself whiplash and have a wreck, you know its a sexier car. Of course, a widebody FC would have a somewhat similar effect.

Are you kidding me? A friend of mine has an '03 1.8T A4... they have nice torque but they are not fast, not unless you chip them or do a turbo upgrade or whatever. A 1.8T runs low 16's. I ran a stock '04 1.8T Jetti GLI (made a thread about it) and that was dead even with me from a roll in my heavily modded nonturbo FC. Now an S4, which is what this guy raced, is another matter...

it depends on so many variables...i'm sure a decent running n/a fc would more than keep up with your GMC truck. Add a sloshbox to the mix and the already slow ass fc becomes a commuter special!

The 2002-2004 models have a twin-turbo V6. the guy i used to work for DD's one, and it's fast as hell, not quite as fast as the NSX that the guy tracks, but it's pretty close.
