im runnin a 87 T2, racing beat turbo back, hks intake, fcd, walbro pump do i stand any chance against a stock 350z ive been seeing them around latley and it makes me so curious but ive never had a chance to go at it with one of them just wondering what to prepare for.

Possibly.

Do you still have the stock motor? If so then I'd say most likely not.

Race him and find out. Only way your going to know..

My bro raced one with full exhaust (including headers), intake and "plenum" in his T2 with more boost, pump, running 720 primaries I think, and he rocked him hard all the way to 140mph, easily a car. Let me try to find the vid.
Well heres the link to the thread.

didnt have any 720's at the time of that race was stock except for Walrbo Pump, Racing Beat Exhaust full 3" and some boost... you should have a chance thing that really helped me out was the clutch after i replaced it with an ACT street strip clutch (bronze clutch) the car was so much smoother...

Hmm. I used to take C5s regularly with the stock motor in my 88 T2. It also had stock turbo, intercooler and computer. I only had intake, exhaust, clutch, drag radials, FCD, and GSL-SE secondaries. At 12 psi, I put down about 240 rwhp and ran very low 13s. Ported motor only would have given me 10-15 more hp. I also made 345 rwhp on the same "stock" motor with a 60-1. So I guess the answer is :
Yeah you could beat the crap out of a 350Z if your car is not stock and you know how to drive.

id say no my cuz had one and it was fast well he use to beat other zs too though by about a car aswell so could be possible go for it good luck!

You'll beat him.

Tanabe 05-01-05 10:41 PM

It should be close, I've driven both a TII and a 350Z. They both got balls but the Z lacks power in the high end like most Nissans.

JONSKI 05-02-05 08:33 AM

It sounds like a fair matchup if you are running stock boost. The best driver will likely win.

If you're running 10psi or more, then I think you will have the edge.

coenusmc 05-02-05 06:34 PM

you should easily beat him with no problems hell first gen probe gt with a little mods beats em on a roll

gxlspeeder 05-02-05 07:29 PM

Drive well, if you can, you'll beat him. But don't get confused, IT WILL be a close race.

Outkast 05-06-05 09:42 AM

A bone stock TurboII is a full second slower than a 350Z..... :(
A bolt on TurboII is a full second faster than the Z....... :)
So in my opinion it can go either way.....
If your car runs good and you drive well, you'll smoke that bastard
;)

the 350z

yes you can, and yes you will.....but they pull real hard in the top end
