RX7Club.com - Mazda RX7 Forum - Another ricer bites the dust.

I was cruising around yesterday on the highway, while waiting for my girlfriend to get off work. I got off the highway and, as I'm driving down the off-ramp, I spy one of the riciest rides I've seen in ages. Mid-to-late 90's Mazda Miata, top down, windows up.

Who the fuck does that? :D

Anyways, the windows are almost black from this kid's tint, and they're adorned top to bottom in stickers. Strike one! He's got a shitty body kit with a huge square hole cut in the rear bumper for his rice cannon, which looked like it could easily house a small child- AND, it was mounted in the center. Swing and a miss.

The fenders, Z3 style, are teal. The rest of the car is off-white. Three strikes. Normally, he'd be out at this point, but I couldn't forget the bookshelf aluminum wing perilously bolted to his trunklid. Instant death.

His music's blaring, and he's driving the speed limit, albeit erratically. Despite this, I know a ricer can't pass up a chance to let those four cylinders scream in agony. I get beside him at a light, and I look over at his car and just crack up. I tried to contain myself, but it was just too laughable. I wish I could have seen his reaction, but for all I know his windows were solid black plastic they were so dark. He starts revving, and I just tap the gas and let the rotary purr a little.

Light turns green, I dump the clutch at 4 thousand RPMs and launch, spinning the wheels through all of 1st and most of 2nd. His chirped at the light, but he never even stood a chance. Took him by about two and a half cars before I hit third gear. He hangs back a while, but further up the road he starts wanting some more. Maybe he thought his little Miata had VTEC. (Although it did come nicely equipped with Very Trashy Exterior Colors) So we go from about a 50-roll, with me downshifting from 5th to 3rd. Didn't lose traction, just took off and left him by about four cars, before the poor sap decided to cut his losses and veer off at the next turn.

It was the most rewarding experience I've had all week. :D

(By the way, my car's a basically stock S5 TII with a short ram intake and glasspacks.)
