96 svt cobra vs 87 TII
Just went mono e mono with a 96 svt cobra with practically intake, exhaust and a tune. I was running stock boost, which is 5.5ish with it being about 75 degrees out so not the best conditions for the the rotary at least. We did 4 pulls..
First pull we started at 60, I was in third he was in third, third honk we went. I instantly put his front nose at my rear bumper so I let off several times until he started catching up.. to my misfortune he ended up catching up and practically passing me when I hit 4th.. we shut down at around 105 and we were pretty much side by side. 2nd pull I didn't let off and we started at about 55mph. I put about a car length on him in 3rd then in 4th he would slowly reel me back in but I shut down at about 110ish again. His front end was at my rear tires when we shut down that pull. On our last pull we started at around 50ish, I brake boosted and instantly pulled on him but being that i was slightly out of my power band and he was more in his I only pulled several feet on him. I held 3rd gear to about 8k or roughly i think it was close to 90 or 95 mph and in doing so that held him off a little longer but when I hit 4th he pulled right beside me and we stayed neck to neck all the way until about 120 or 125.... such a rush guys! Anyway, he has a drag slip doing a 14.2 @ 101mph his first time dragging so not the fastest car in the world but still it could scoot. |
p.s. had a 170 pound passenger in mine.. Just the driver in the cobra
