88 n/a vs. 07 G35

My n/a FC has air intake, RB header, RB catless exhaust. G35 had short throw shifter. Cruising at 70mph through it in 3rd and very slowly pulled until we both backed off.

Thats highly doubtful as the 07 G35 is rated @ 306 since its the 6spd version.

You have an NA with bolt ons that i dont even think nets you another 15hp.

Sorry but i think he wasnt racing you if you were implying that it was you who was slowing pulling him.

Actually it was my friends car which is why i know he has a short shifter. And the 07 manual has 298bhp. That car also weighs more and he had a 90lb sub in the trunk and a 120 lb passenger. He would smoke me any day of the week but I got a jump on him.

Also when we got off the interstate he got on me about taking a 65mph merge ramp at 85mph which ive done many times saying "dont take that turn so fast, its not like your driving my car" Implying that the 350s and G35s handle better than FC's. I know they are faster in general but with the 50/50 weight distribution, lightness of the FC, and lower ride height I have a hard time believing a g35 can out handle an FC. Am I wrong here?

298 hp was for the 05-06 models.

07 is when it went to 306.

The weight difference still doesnt even factor in what a NA FC runs though.

You're running a 13 second car that traps 103+ in the 1/4...thats about what a TII runs at full boost on the stock turbo...

As for the handling what your car had 20 years ago really means nothing since the bushings are worn out, shocks are leaking, springs are sagging and the tires are probably shot.

That said with a decent spring/shock setup and some sticky 225s you will hand that G35 its ass on an exit ramp or twisty. Rule of thumb for exit ramps is that you should be able to double the suggested speed even in a stock car with all seasons. Of course this is less true in the higher speed ramps and vice versa.

well hes not employed by car n driver... 14.1 is his best run. and yes as i said i know it could smoke me any day, he was in the wrong gear im sure. As for my suspension it is in great shape with some nice 215's.
