I am coming out of a store onto the main road and see a 300zx with a black wing on it and as we get next to each other he jumps first and downshifts and starts pulling on me , I downshift to 3rd and catch up and pass him ( I think he let off the gas)

I then slow down after passing him to make a right onto another road , he follows me onto the road and he again attemps to pass me. I downshift into 3rd gear before he can pass and we're dead even all the way until i shift gears at 7500rpm into 4th gear, then he just slows down/gives up and we stopped and talked for a few minutes.

He said he let off the gas because he was afraid of cops , but I think he knew he couldnt pass my 7 , his 300zx was an automatic and completely stock

For the record the race was on a downhill slope if that makes any difference, but I think my rx7 did pretty nicely for being untuned racing a 222/198tq hp v6 with my >200hp/165tq rx7

If my car was tuned I think Id take his stock 300zx , even if mine was tuned and his had some boltons i think it would still be pretty close because of the weight difference.

 

well considering the z weighs a whale, its a no brainer you won. you guys would be dead even if he was driving a 5speed and was at the track.
