Wilwood SL6R on FC?

Toying with the idea of pulling the Wilwood SL6Rs off the front of my other car and moving them to the TurboII. Anybody done this? They're the 1.62/1.12/1.12 radial mounts (rear side) that use a 7420 pad. What size Tilton master? Who built the bracket? What rotor? What wheels to clear? They're currently on 12.9in x 1.25in vented rotors and work really well pulling down the 3444# car.

Any information at all would be appreciated. They're big, wide calipers. http://www.wilwood.com/CaliperProd.a...no=120-6144-RS

Maybe someone with a faster class car can answer, unfortunately with the class my car is in, I was never able to explore bigger brakes and have no experience. Good luck!

Found out today the TurboII weighed 2280# with the old cage and without really being stripped of all brackets and bits and pieces. Target weight with the new cage is 2150# and much better chassis stiffening. If it really does come in that light maybe I'll get lucky and even with a whole bunch of horsepower the stock brakes will hold up!

dammnnnnnnnn 2150
mind put some pics up ?

I'll put them up when it's true. :-) We weighed it at 2280# with a heavier cage than required and the stock hood/hatch/windshield and some sound deadening left in. With the new cage, polycarb for glass, and fibreglass we're expecting the 2150# number. We'll see.

Rather than just thinking about the Wilwoods... what brake upgrades are people making on the FC? The car already runs dual masters, etc.

Still waiting on the new cage and body work to be put together; my project car got pushed down the priority list behind running cars. Season is finally coming to an end with the 25hour at Thunderhill...

I did the SLR6's on my FC.
I used the GT directional vented 12.9" x 1.25" rotors and bought .75" or so offset hats. I had to machine the inside of the hats out slightly (local guy did it cheap) And I had to build 1/2" spacers to mount up the wilwood radial mounts that I bought. I went with a 3 pedal setup. I haven't loo0ked at it for a bit, but I think I'm running a 7/8" master cylinder (I'm using two one way vales to create a recirculating system so there is always cool fluid in the calipers. Setup is flawless, pedal is always there, even in long hard races. Car is 2305 lbs with 1/2 tank of gas and runs 400 rwhp (gt35R) with yokohama slicks and a Geforce t5 dog/straight cut gearbox. I beat up on a Porsche GT3 with Pilot cups at our local time attack.

I'll see if I can dig up some of the parts #'s from the setup.

cheers,
-Trent

Thanks Trent! I think I've mentioned it in the past, but it sure sounds like your car is basically the end-game for my car. Seems like you've done all the tricks with the recirculator ... normally only see that on GT-1 class cars!

The pucker factor of loosing the brakes at 100 mph heading into a tight concrete surrounded corner two years ago made me want a brake system that would be 100% no matter what happened. The setup has to date done exactly what I've wanted.
