Widest wheel/tire combo? FC with AWR EP flares

I'm running the AWR glass flares on the rear of my FC; it's formerly an SCCA EP car. I'm wondering what the biggest wheel/tire combo is that anyone has managed to fit back there?

I'm hoping to use 16x12" rears and 16x10" front using GT1/2 slicks (25.0x13.0-16 or 27.0x14.0-16 for the rear). I think 16x10 will fit fine on the front so not too worried about that.

Anyone managed to fit anything this big before? My initial measurements suggest that there should be plenty of room. I think I remember someone running 18x13" wheels on their FC but not sure what flares they were using.

Any insight appreciated!

I have used 16x10 on the front and back and 16x12 would fit easily on the rear

Thanks Tim! Any idea on max tire size? The 27.0x14-16 would be ideal if it can fit!

I don't think a 12" rim will fit out back within those flares. Might be possible though with the shorter 16" rim and tire combos.

That said, it would be very tight to get 25.0x13.0-16's in there and have room for travel. Carl Byck ran those tires on his FC with Tri-Point flares and they just fit. The Tri-Point flares are wider than the AWR flares.

On thing for sure is that the 27.0x14.0-16 you want in the rear will not come come close to fitting in there unless you jack up the ride height like a 4x4 and run mud flaps with chromed silhouettes of naked girls.

I'll be using a tire that big and I had to push out Tri-Point flares even farther than they came as, and like I mentioned earlier, they are wider than the AWR flares to begin with.

Thanks Dave, yours was the car I was thinking of when I came up with this plan!

Perhaps a 16x10 with the 23.5X11.5-16 or 25.0X12.0-16 would work?
