Where to put dry sump tank

For anyone on here that has a dry sump (I understand that isnt many) or for anyone who has researched/thought about it, where did put the oil tank?

I saw a thread where they put it in the headlight housing. I plan on running headlights just in case i ever need them so that isnt really an option. Im trying to find a spot, preferably in the engine bay, for one. So i can decide what size to buy.

Also, how many quarts do i need? Obviously more is probably better, but is 7.5 qt enough? I found a 6" x 16" tank that i could potentially fit behind the shock tower if I cut a hole for it.

Thanks!

PS, this is for an FC, but i dont mind seeing placement on FDs. Just looking for ideas.

Since this is a race car: Where the scales tell you to place it, I guess? Things like these are perfect to improve weight balance.

We had a 12qt tank in the passenger area about where the passenger's knees would be, bolted to the floor and cage.

The whole idea of the tank is to give the oil a chance to lose any bubbles, a little bigger is better than too small.

In FD's, I've seen dry sump oil tanks on the passenger side behind where the seat would go or in the passenger side foot well. See photos.
If you install the oil tank in the driver's compartment make sure to read the regulations from your sanctioning body...there are safety requirements...

I'd say in the footwell under the glove box

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like the consensus is inside the cabin on the passenger side. Wish I had thought of doing it that way a few days ago, could have picked up the perfect tank for $50. Oh well.
