Where to plumb an oil accumulator?
I would like to mount an oil accumulator on my current project. Where would/do you plumb the oil line to the engine?
I have used the search Thanks for your time |
My Accusump is plumbed into the oil cooler return line with a one way valve. You don't want the oil to have run back into the cooler, it should go straight into the motor.

SCCA, that is great and make sense. What kind of valve did you use and where did you get it from?
Thanks ~ JEB |
My setup is done with a 3/4" brass check valve to keep the oil from going back into the cooler. On/Off is controlled manually by a brass ball valve. It's all plumbed in -10AN. You can get the valves from most industrial plumbing supply places. Here is what the check valve looks like http://www.deanbennett.com/brass-check-valves.htm

Thank you for the data and the photos. I assume that you have had no problems with the heat of the oil and the delrin seals in the valve? I chucked, I just changed the foot valve in my well system and have a spare one around!
Did you use the 125 psi or 400 psi valve? |
