where in So Cal do you live. There are a few aircraft surplus places that have AN fittings at good prices. I use a small surplus place in Burbank, Lucky's Hardware. It is on Burbank Blvd west of Hollywood way. Lots of stuff at very good prices. so if your in the San Fernando valley stop by.

i checked all the usual places, but i seriously can't see paying $27+ for a -10 90*

Unfortunately, there's no such thing as a cheap AN fitting.

JEGS has their "own" fittings that are a little less expensive than the Earl's,
Aeroquip, and other brands, but that's about as good as it gets. If you think the aluminum fittings are bad, try stainless. :D

They are basically "mil-spec" fittings.
Why would you WANT cheap AN stuff?
If you're flaberghasted by the prices, I'd suggest staying away from using them period.
We use "cheap" refrigeration hoses and fittings that are cheaper than performance AN stuff.

I highly recommend making friends with the local hydraulic hose shop.

Also aircraft spruce has a good selection at decent prices

what i meant by cheap was a company that had maybe a 50% markup compared to a 5-600% markup.

i used to get that shit way cheap--like less than half that at one hose shop a couple years ago...but they've since gone under (weren't charging enough? :p: )

so i don't mean cheap quality knockoffs, just a company that isn't so greedy with the profit margin.

used stuff from the Winston cup teams is available at near half price

If you're willing, OBX makes their own stuff, but I wouldn't want to use that stuff on my cars.

Didn't I say EBAY? There are lots of manufactures, race teams, aircraft suppliers that sell them very cheap. I have purchased ultra light fitting with the kevlar hoses for 1/4 of retail.

The other alternative to AN fittings with Stainless hose is Areoquip's blue push lock. Fittings are 40 percent less and are brass and AN type.

i checked with the local hose shop today (i had to get some oil lines done for an re/fc swap anyway)...anyway, he hooked me up with a reseller account!!!

i no longer have to worry about hoses and fittings :D

Most of my AN fiittings and s/s lines were from Ebay and WAAAY cheaper than local shops here. Yea, paying $30 for a -6 45 degree IS a lot and sure adds up when you need 90 degrees, straights, 45 degrees etc. ...
Putting together these fittings were easier than I thought. I learned a few tricks ;)
