1. BASIC hand tool. jack. jack stand


2. big hammer :D


3. engine oil. diff/tran oil. distil water. brake fluid. 2 stroke oil.


3. a lot of zip tie. duct tape . j b weld. silicon gasket.

spare parts

1. water pump. gasket. and belts

2. spark plugs. and wire. for me extra rotor and cap

3. alternator

4. wheel studs. wheel bearings?

5. extra brake rotors and pads

6. spare shifter.( my brake at my last race)

We always load out trailer down to the gills. I wont bother listing all the spare parts, because we've got 4 of those big plastic boxes full. It would be too damn long (plus I dont even know whats in all those boxes :D )

Some other things I bring, in decreasing order of importance:
1. Starter
2. Jumper cables
3. Battery
4. Timing light
5. Spare tires/wheels

Also have a big box of pads and rotors, most of them fairly worn but not completely. Just in case I need to get some more goody out of them.

Transmission. All electronics.

I take a trailer load of spaes, and what ever I leave at home or the workshop is the part I need!

Take as much as you can including things like fuel lines, glue, silicon, etc....

Don't bother bringing anything you wouldn't have time to fix at the track anyway. No sense in bringing wheel bearings if you need a press to change them, or an engine rebuild kit for instance (whole motors are a different story:p: ).

The most important thing to bring to the track is a well prepared racecar. This racecar will rarely break and if it does it's normally from strong outside influences (like walls or other cars :p: ). I am constantly suprised by the number of people who try to prepare their cars Sunday morning. That is too late.

More often than not it's the simple things that sideline cars. Have extra of all your fluids and lubes. Belts. Plugs. Wires. Hoses and clamps. Nuts and bolts. Ignition parts. Electrical wire. Proper tools.

Damon has the right idea. I only bring items I can safely replace at the track in a timely manner(no engine, trans, rear ends,etc). I try to do all repairs and prep the car in the shop not at the track. only time I change this routine is if we have to travel more than a couple hours. since we are travelling 8-10 hours I bring extra items that I normally would not bring. this is to try and get something out of a weekend we spent so much time and money getting to. spend you days at the track racing and if it breaks take it home(except the simple or minor repairs) and fix it right and be prepared for the next race.

Don't forget your AAA card. :D:D:D

Comes in very handy .... especially for those of us who are bound to tire trailers and manage to break something really important.

Not for the car, but trailer. Tire plug kit. Changing out a tire to a spare, and then having the spare catch a flat is no fun. Who would think 2 flats in one trip?

We're now seriously thinking about bringing a welder, generator, sawsall, tubing, vice.... all kinds of shop tools along with us. This year we've put about 9 cars BACK on the track (none of which were ours). 4 IT cars 2 formula cars and a production car or two and maybe even more. We even had to weld a cage back into a car where it's pads had separated from the floor.

A well prepped car is a joy to race during a weekend. The point is to turn wrenches before the weekend, not during, unless someone's paying you to do it for them :D

If someone is paying then by all means you should be prepared for anything. most racers are only worried about keeping there car running, so prepare accordingly
