Wanted Rx7 Tube Frame

I'm looking for an RX7 tube frame for raod racing roller with body kit. 1st second or 3rd gen prefer IMSA style body kit.
Let me know what you have.

Benny, there are some finished 2nd gen EX IMSA cars, and some GT cars for sale. They run ~30K for a complete car with a 3 rotor, and spares. I have not seen any rollers, but I would research who used to run them, and then track the cars down, I'm sure some are just sitting in somebody's collection. Check some of the sites linked to JGTC, and Grand Am, they often have high end rollers from other venues. There are quite a few of these cars in AU, as they can run in a series there.

I have an second gen RX7 Tub race car, that why I'm looking at a roller. Hopefully I can find 1 well priced.

wow Carl, thats a freaking sweet ride..

That FD is hard core. Wonder what the weight on that beast is.

in2twins 12-01-03 10:22 AM

That would be a fast rx7, an FC :D

in2twins 12-01-03 10:34 AM

Here is a link to the website, http://www.cityperformancecentre.com/
go to customer cars, then go to "circuit cars", then go to centreline suspension RX7. The car weighs 850Kg, and makes 490rwhp on a PP 20B.
Enjoy, this is quite a car. Carl
Sorry about the thread-jacking Benny.

How about this.. SCCA GT-2 legal FD and right in your home state  www.sevensonly.com
...click on Super7 Racing

Nice, how about some more pics, also what does a roller cost?

Silkworm 12-01-03 02:04 PM

I've seen the 7's only car, it looks like a 7/8 scale car! But it does look well setup, and they are very very fast. They were selling turn-key cars for 25K last I saw.

the other is a tube frame imsa style fd owned by Mark Bennie phone 250 754 6956. you would have to ask him for a price.

RageRace 12-04-03 11:07 PM

Benny, i have a business partner who has one with a 12pt chromololy cage(dont quote me on that) and custom IC ducting. I believe he wants around $6000-6500 ill find out tomorrow and post here.

ErnieT 12-10-03 10:31 PM

Peter Ferrel (PFS) is selling his tube frame FD. I know he lowered the price quite a bit from last year.

benny 12-10-03 11:50 PM

Make sure it's a tube frame car and set up for road racing not drag and have him e-mail pics and price at benoit@realride.com
Thx

DigDug 12-10-03 11:53 PM

Its his old road racing car, but I don't speak with him. You'd have to contact him yourself.

the Peter Farrel cars are not "tube frame" cars. What Ben is talking about is a race car built entirely out of tubing. it is not a stock RX7 with a cage, but a race car built from tubing with a fiberglass body. similar to how NASCAR stock cars are built. this would be like an SCCA GT2 or 3 car or maybe an ex IMSA GTU or GTO car. IMSA street stock and World Challenge cars start life as stock cars and are modified for racing. a tube chassis car is a designed and built for racing chassis.

DigDug 12-15-03 05:12 PM

Yeah, I've seen the PFS car you are talking about, and it is definitely not a tube-frame. It is Peter's old Bridgestone Supercar series entrant.
