Victoracer life
 

I am looking at new tires for this year, and I'm looking for some input. Car is a '94 Touring, these will be track tires only.

I plan on running between 8-12 open track events this season, how many sets of Victoracers would I need? How many events do they last? Event defined as a 1 day event, running from about 9am-5pm, no full race weekends here...

Trying to decide between going with a few sets of Victo's or picking up some max performance street tire like S-03s...

Different tracks and different conditions wear on tires ... well, differently. The PCA DE/TT that we run are HARD on brakes and tires. Texas World Speedway, on the other hand, is much nicer to your pads and shoes. I personally think a couple of sets of V700's are worth the expenditure. As opposed to sliding around on some expensive street tires which will probably last a fair bit longer. :D

ahhh the topic arrises once again.... if you want the full info... search this section of the forum for the thread called "Toyo vs. Kuhmo" but ill say some stuff right now also...

Kuhmo's are very sticky tires and provide alot of grip, however the downfall is they START to go away after maybe 6-10 heat cycles. many of the guys competing for championship in SRX7 last year would buy a new set every race. yes, every friggin race. now people are experimenting with Toyo Proxes RA-1. many good thing to say about them. they wear like ROCKS. if you buy a set of shaved toyos, you will be good for close to, if not ALL of your track events. they actually get better as they go.... its amazing. the downfall is they are slightly harder compound than victos, but people say they dont feel much of a difference. so buy kumhos if you have the money, but experiment with toyos, as they may not be any worse, and definately cheaper in the long run. thats a brief intro to this argument lol. but search for that thread that i mentioned above, it might be helpful.
