Versidware RT for tire temps

Anybody familier with this?

Basically it's a kit which turns your Palm into a memory pyrometer. Much smaller and more powerful than the Longacre memory types.

I've emailed them about price info just this morning but would like to know if anybody knows anything about it.

Just got off the phone with these guys. The entire kit is $450 and includes everything except a Palm 3 (which is very cheap). The kit consists of the module for the Palm, the probe, the software and a carry case for the Palm/module assembly.

The Longacre memory pyros are almost the same price but this system would be more compact and have many more features. But it's easy to find the Longacre's used...

Ouch. I was really hoping that it would be a little cheaper than that. It would be nioce to have, but $450 is a lot of money that would probably be better spent on an Evolution school... For me, at least.

My friend Charlie uses on the race bikes for his team. It is a very good unit and you can log all of the temps automatically. If you are racing a season and make changes in suspension for each track it is a great way to measure what you are doing from session to session track to track. I am not that sophisticated with my race bike and just put it on paper with a normal pyrometer. Many of the teams also input track temp into the program and dump everything into .xls format on their laptops and make desicion trees for suspension changes for each track based on track temp. I am not that cool either. Then again, I am also not getting wood every race either.

I just bought a Longacre Memory pyro for $80 off ebay last week. They're nearly $400 new!!! I've been watching for over a year and finally got lucky :)
