upgraded oil cooler ?

The guy building my motor strongly suggested getting a better oil cooler. Currently running a 2nd gen front mount. I am looking at the Earls 25row coolers.
I am building to run this car on the street and do a LITTLE solo scca parking lot racing. (car will mostly be a play car not DD and not fully race)

What do you guys think upgrade or will the stock one be fine.
I will be running a 13b 4port with a large street port.

Also what min size cooler should I be looking at.

Thanks
Aaron

A TII Oil Cooler should be adequate. If you want something a bit more custom to suit your needs then I'd suggest looking into Setrab and Fluidyne.

Ok so the turboIIs are a bigger cooler. Wish I knew that before I bought the na one. Good info thks.

Its hard to beat the stock cooler without spending a ton of money. Until you get into running 30 minutes or so on the track the stock one will be fine.

There isn't. For you power level and use the oil cooler you have will work fine.

A Fluidyne late model 400 dual pass is the current hot ticket for rotaries in the NW. Check out Hoerr Racing web page. It will set you back about $290.

I was looking at trying to do the horizontal type mounting with the ducting but the limited space I have in the celica looks like i will have to mount the cooler 1/2 way below the rad and 1/2 covering the lower section of the rad. From what I could come up with it looks like the best split of incoming air between the rad and oil cooler. Ill post up a pic in a day or two to see what you guys think. Maybe someone will see a better way to do it.

I really didnt want to drop $300 into a new cooler but I would if it is problem. I will be watching my oil temps closely to see if I need to upgrade.

What oil temp is to high?

Measured where? ReTed had a chart of acceptable temps measured in different places but I don't remember where to find it.

ETA: nm, found it:
