suspension?
mods??

right now im running on 18"s racing hart c2's but wouldnt mind using the stock turboII rims for track rims and i got a guy who has a fully built track car (2nd gen) who might sell me the coilovers he has on his car hes looking to get a new set ill let you guys know what happens with that but for now what do you guys think i should go over before i get on an auto x corse?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that down pipe bumps you straight into the SCCA A Street Prepared class. In this class you can run any suspension past the stock mounts and any wheels shod with any DOT race tires. The full rules are on SCCA.com. The nice thing about SP now is that they now allow any engine management systems.

edit: I forgot you asked about engine work. You can do anything outside of the stock engine and turbo and manifold. That means any intercooler, any uim/lim, intake.
FYI You would spend alot less by putting the stock dp and cats and running B stock with the stock size rims and any DOT race tire. The TII is not really classed well in any class except B prepared (think racecar).

Just go out there and have fun when you get more serious you can look into more mods or picking the right car for a certain class.

so putting the stock DP will be put me in the B stock class and thats means ??? what kind of cars would i be running up against?

RX-8, 350 Z,300 ZX, Mazdaspeed Miata, Audi TT,M3,Z3,944 turbo,928,911 n/a,MR2 turbo are some popular ones.
Seriously, just go out in ASP and have fun and hone your skills.

Stock only allows a few mods that is why it is generally cheaper to run and not as likely to get out dollared. ASP is owned by GT-2s and ZO6s at the moment.

not sure if this is still current, but according to that site, it should be in BSP.

I am probably wrong then. I could have sworn they were ASP-oh well. With the move of the rally cars (Evo/STI) to BSP it really does not matter what you do to a TII you won't be nationally competitive.

It's incredulous to think that Evo's/STi's were in ESP......

Yep, totally agree, the only hope is that SCCA would allow turbo upgrade in BSP excluding EVO's and Sti's. I've been extremely aggravated since the news about the reclassifiacation came out about a month or two ago because I'm halfway complete on my TII to run BSP since it's useless to run in BS and I run my M3 there already.

It is TOTALLY beyond me how is it possible that SCCA in all their wisdom would not put Sti's and EVO's in SS or why the move from AS as it is on the 2006 SOLO Rules...

last year he would have been in ASP, but they changed it I believe

Because they need a place to showcase the Vettes and having American Big Iron get trounced by Small Turbo'd Imports is a big No-No in the eyes (and wallets) of the SCCA.

Not exactly true. In stock form the rally cars could hardly keep up with the AS contingent (C4 Vette, S2000, BMW) let alone the SS crowd. I even think the FD could beat them as per stock class rules. It is only when you are able to mod them that their capabilities show through (ESP->BSP).

Here's my problem with that, when you say SS is out of their league I'd say sure, but not AS, they only need stiffer springs and shocks and they are up there, maybe not enough to dominate but enough to give battle.

My point is that there is a reason why you only see TII's in club racing but not in Solo, as much disadvantage Evo's and STi's supposedly have in AS it's nothing compared to the ridiculous disadvantage of putting TII's to run against 350Z, E36 M3, RX-8's...even in BSP is a long shot since we can't upgrade to a TO4. I'm giving it a shot anyway I just need to figure out how big of injectors the T3 will support with the Microtech.

The TII's suspension will match up, a little short on brakes, but there's a serious gap in HP ....we'll see if anything I just want to see the TII battling the big boys in Solo, even more if it's mine :ylsuper:
