Tuning Help Please!!!!!

I was just able to find a sterling carb and want to head to the dyno. Can anyone help me with the steps and what a/f ratios I should be shooting for? I don't want to take my car to the next open track day and blow it up.

Thanks,

Shawn

IMO its easier to start rich, and then lean it out until it stops gaining power, and then goo a little richer.

so for example, you might start @like 11:1, and get it to 13:1, and find that 12:8 made more power, so you go back to 12.8:1, and or even 12.5:1.

a little rich gives you some margin for whatever (bad fuel pump/clogged filter/cold day, etc)

you might try retarding the timing a couple degrees, and then advancing a couple degrees, and you'll see what it wants

I'm a beast with carbs.

Best power will be between 12.5 and 13.5. Like the other guy said start at 11.? And slowly lean it out.

To test your jetting put it in 4th gear and floor it. After the extra fuel from your accelerator pump burns off your a/f will stabilize showing you where your jets are set.
Once your jetting is good fine tune ur accelerator pump.

Need help. Pm me ur number.

i'm also looking at where to get a set of jets, holley jets don't fit, so I need to know where to source some and what ranges to get.

Thanks

You can try plugging the secondary air bleeds or make smaller ones from brass. Doing this will give you extra fuel.
