triple master cylinder brake pedal install
Hi fellows, I'm interested in how other people have installed the triple master cylinder (with bias bar) brake pedal setup in their car. I'm going to install mine into my 88 FC in the next little while and I'd like to see how other people did it before I start. Thanks in advance,

I just modified the stock assembly and made the hole wider in the fire wall. I then made a plate that reinforced the mounting area and bolted through to the stock pedal mount. Some of the spacers for the pedal mount to the firewall had to be moved to match up with the new master's spacing.
I added the balance bar to the stock pedal with some tabs added to the sleeve they come with. One trick I had to do to get the leverage ratio I wanted was to lower the pedal and raise the hole for the balance bar. This meant that I had to put extra holes in the pedal mount and use two seperate bolts for the pedal top pivot instead of the stock long one. |
Thanks guys. Got some good ideas.
I wound up cutting a 5"x11" hole in the firewall and fabricating a sub-frame for the pedal assemby and a mounting frame in the car that it slides into. I thought it might be worth it to keep the assembly easy to remove. JGrewe, great idea, wish I'd thought of it before I bought the pedals and cut up the firewall. cheers, -Trent |
