Trailering an FD
 

Hi

Returning to the RX-7 world after a year with Porsches. Ran a '93 for many years ('93 until '04), and just bought a '94. I ran the '93 at a few track events in the late '90s, but always at Laguna Seca and Sears Point, and always drove there.

With the Porsches, I broke down and bought an open trailer, and used that to get to those tracks and up to Thunderhill. Now, I'll do the same for my FD.

How/where do you tie down the FD? I used the front tow hooks, and that seemed to work fine, but could find anything in the rear. Just threw the strap over the half-shaft, and got a little tension. Any other recomemndations?

use the trailing arms in the rear :).

If you still have the tow hooks up front use those if not use the factory toe holes that are located just behind the front fenders and inward toward the trans tunnel in the front.

The rear axles are your only safe alternative in the rear unless the rear OEM mud guards/wheel spoilers are removed. Under those is another set of slots cut sturdy enough hook into. Not the safest or the best for the car but I use the holes in the subframe to hook into. I wouldn't use any of the aluminum susp pieces because they can bend easily.

BTW the commander holder sold but I still have the Cs shifter.
