track check list...? so to speak
 

Is there a list of things to check before and after you go to the track with the car, just like a personal list of things that you like to make sure is ok. I am just trying to get an idea of things to check before and after I go to the track, if somone could make a list of some type that would be awsome! TIA

Thanks for the links guys but what I am really looking for is a basic check off list of things to examine on your "race" car prior to the actual track event. Everything I find in searches is a list of things to take to the track like equipment and tires and stuff. Can anybody point me in the right direction or give me some advice on things to "examine"? TIA

Fluids, suspension pieces, torque wheels, etc. Pretty much everything you'd check before a long car trip x10. If you want to go really insane, you could make sure all the suspension pieces are torqued down good, but a simple check to make sure nothing is cracked is it.

Once you get to the track, you do the same before every session. ;)

As Chris mentioned, it's just normal maintenance stuff you should already be doing:

Before event:

1. Change oil
2. Flush coolant
3. Bleed brakes

I also change pads. The pads I run aren't full race pads so they are ok to use for the drive to the event (just not everyday driving).

4. Check suspension for cracked/broken parts or extra play.
5. Check tranny and diff fluids

If it's been a while, then it would be good to change these.

6. Check IC couplers
7. Inspect tires for wear behavior (tighten lug nuts)

The tire pressure you use will probably be most dependent on the temperature so you can check that at the track.

8. Check intake filters (clean or replace depending on your filter type).

Lastly, clean out your car. There should be nothing that should interfere with your driving (i.e. remove floor mats, loose change, etc).

While at the event, monitor your fluid levels after each session. If you put an FD on the track, you'll be burnin' oil like nobody's business. ;) Tighten your lug nuts after each session. Bring some window cleaner as your rear window will pick up a lot of crap each session.
