Toyo Proxes RA-1

Does anyone know where online to get a set of shaved and heat-cycled Toyo Proxes RA-1s? Tirerack does those services but do not sell Toyos. My local shops don't heat cycle - strange. I need a good supplier of 185/60/13s for the upcoming season - thanks all.

Any particular reason you are set on the Toyos?

These guys have always treated me well:

This is another popular choice with the Miata crew:

Goodwin has a great rep, but I dunno if they stock 13's

I also didn't see anything about shaving them on any of these sites. :dunno: I'm sure you can find somewhere in the bay area to heat/shave them for you. PM ARD T2; I'm positive he can help you find someone around here to set you up. :)

Head over to Sears Point across the bay.

thanks guys - i will probably head over to infineon like silkworm suggested. mikeric i need the toyos because they are the required tires for scca rx7 racing in norcal.

I get mine from a company called appalachian tire. Juts google them and Im sure they will come up. I've heard that the artificial heat cycling doesnt really do much for the longevity of the tires.

RA-1 tires don't need heat cycling. Just shaving.

Yeah, Ron@AIM is the man. Ask him for set up advice and he'll happily give guidance there, too! Especially for the spec class cars...

AIM tire is the west coast distributor, so we don't have a choice here

Toyos aren't the fastest tire out there, most folks run them because of class rules. However, honestly I've not seen a r compound tire out there that runs as consistently and for as long, as the RA-1.
